Samantha wrapped Iris well up before cleaning up and walking away. I sat down next to her, and she leaned against me. When Jacob walked past us, she grabbed his hand, making him stop in his tracks. ´Thank you, dear....Welcome to the pack´ She whispered in a tired yet happy tone. Jacob smiled at her and gave her a small bow. She let go of his hand, and he walked off. Not long after he left, I heard a yawn coming from her. I glanced down, and she started to doze off. I smiled and shifted her gently into my embrace, placing her in a comfortable position on my lap.
I started to rub her back. I am so glad that I can hold her once again in my embrace. I never thought I would get another chance to do so. I wonder...how did she survive for so long out in the forest all alone... I glanced at our sleeping twins. Amelia was wrapped around Lily in their sleep. I smiled softly at them. ´Samantha...!´ I called my sister softly over, and she came to us holding a cup of tea. ´What do you need?´ She asked me before taking a sip of her tea. ´Could you take the twins up into our room? My hands are full with a sleeping Iris...´ I answered her question, and she chuckled, placing her teacup away before picking up the twins. We both made our way to the master bedroom. I placed Iris on the bed gently and tugged her in before helping Samantha with the twins. I gently picked Lily up in my arms, changed her, and placed her into her crib before tugging her in. Samantha did the same to Amelia, and I thanked her before she walked out. After closing the door, I sighed and leaned against it. I have to grow my pack so I can protect my family better. But for now? I will focus on my family.
I moved away from the door and climbed into the bed next to Iris and wrapped my arms around her. She flinched and snarled at me before she recognized my scent and relaxed. Before I knew, the morning woke me up. I didn´t even know that I fell asleep. I glanced down and saw that Iris was still asleep. Before getting up, I kissed her head and went to the bathroom to freshen up. After the shower, I put some clothes on and went down to the kitchen, where Samatha was already making breakfast. We greeted each other before we sat down and ate together. ´What is on your mind, brother?´ She asked me before taking a sip of her coffee. ´I will go and look for more lone wolves to make our pack stronger. We are a small pack, I want it to be bigger for safety.´ I told her honestly before taking the last bite of my breakfast. I thanked her and went out of the beach house. I changed into my wolf form and ran off in a different direction from where Iris came. It didn´t take long for me to find the other lonely wolves in the forest. I found a female wolf and two males. All three of them had torn skin, and one of them had fresh wounds on its leg. I quickly went up to the female and touched her neck with my nose, and she flinched, but allowed me to lick the wound. The two males started to grawl at me, trying to intimidate me.
I didn´t pay much attention to them and picked the female gently by the back of her neck and made my way back to the beach house. I glanced over my shoulder at the two males, letting them know to follow me before I made my way back to the house. The two males were slow, so I had to slow down even more. It took us hours to get to the beach house, but we made it. I gently placed the female wolf on the couch and changed back. ´Samantha! Jacob! Please bring me the first aid kit and come help me!´ I shouted for them, and within seconds, they were near the wounded and me. The three wounded wolves changed into their human forms. The two males had a lot of bites and deep cuts; the female was a bit worse than the males. She was bleeding more than the two males. Her wounds look fresher than the ones of the two males. It took us a good two hours to clean up their wounds and patch them up. I came to know their names.
The female's name was Poppy; one male was named Martin, and the other was Rick. They escaped from a pack war, which they described as a bloodbath. They were lucky to have survived, though wounded. We helped them into separate rooms and assisted them in lying down on the beds. While I was helping Poppy, she kissed my cheek, leaving me momentarily frozen. I looked up at her, and she gave me a shy smile. ´I'm sorry, but I have a mate and my beautiful twins.´ I informed her, and I saw her smile drop for a second before she nodded. I tugged her in and walked out of the room. I saw that Samantha was already decorating the living room and the garden for the welcome party for Jacub. I went to check on Iris and the twins. Once I opened the door, I saw Iris feeding Lily while playing with Amelia. That sight brought a smile to my face. I went up to them and sat on the bed next to Iris and Amelia. Iris looked up and smiled at me. I leaned down and kissed her softly.
Amelia turned her gaze toward me and started to reach out for me. I took her and placed her on my lap, while Iris continued to feed Lily. I rubbed Amelia`s back softly with my claws as Iris fed Lily. Amelia cooed happily, grabbing onto my finger, giggling. I smiled down at her and kissed her small head softly.
