As Ethan Herd crashed into Mir, pinning him to the ground, he felt a warmth on his face, as though something had sprayed onto him.
After falling to the ground, Ethan's hand touched an even hotter liquid. Looking down, he saw Mir's chest, right near the heart—a stream of blood was gushing outwards. The blood was scalding hot, but once it flowed out, it cooled almost instantly.
Ethan immediately raised his head. Scarlett Glenn was standing upright, staring at her hands. There wasn't a single wound on her. She was unharmed.
It was as if Ethan's heart, previously on the verge of shock, suddenly beat again, brought back to life.
