Chapter 217 - Destroying Sacred Shelter

The next day when Bian woke up, he felt as though he had swallowed a bitter pill.

Asides the armor wrecking his body, he felt something more severe, more fatal was wrong.

The first thing he did was check his interface, yet nothing had changed there. Regardless, he was sure that he felt a very minuscule amount of his lifespan leaving him.

"Is there an issue with the Emperical Decree? If I use it too much, will I become a leaking tap and lose all my lifespan?"

Bian was deathly worried. As a scientist, he should have known that recklessly gaining something from nothing wouldn't come without consequences.

"It's alright, as long as I only bring them up to my level in the future, I'll be okay."

He didn't want to shy away from his powers, but he definitely had to be more cautious when using them. He didn't have any limiters, so he would have to set limits by himself.

After going through the motions of life, he told Han Yan she could enter the sanctuaries at dusk.

Once she ran all of her geno arts at once, the unique powers would catch his attention and give away her location.

Bian kissed his baby boy goodbye and left first, heading back into the sanctuaries.

His injuries had healed to some degree, meaning he wouldn't be totally helpless if anything awry occurred.

He still hoped that Tyrant would be able to handle all the super creatures though.

He summoned both of his berserk super beast souls and climbed on top of Nightmare.

An empty power filled his body, turning Bian translucent.

"Tyrant, I'll leave the fighting to you."

Tyrant spared Bian a glance before grunting, smoke bellowing out of his nostrils.

Bian pointed in the direction of the super shelter, telling Nightmare where to go.

The dark destrier flapped its raven black wings and turned into a streak of lightning.

The lightning moved close to the ground, yet not a single blade of grass was singed by it. The long streak of lightning was capable of phasing through mountains and rivers, heading in a straight line towards sacred shelter.

A greeb bird with four wings flew above a massive shelter. Each flap of its wings was powerful enough to produce a whirlwind.

The avian's eyesight was quite superb. It spotted a bolt of lightning moving towards the shelter.

"Who dares to attack sacred shelter!"

The four-winged bird screeched. Four eight-sided throwing knives appeared underneath its wings. It arched its back and sent the four blades flying forward, surrounded by sharp wind.

The blades moved very fast, yet it was utterly futile as all four attacks passed through the lightning streak as if it was an illusion.

The four-winged bird was shocked; it thought it was under a mental spell. The bolt of lightning suddenly stopped in front of the wall surrounding the shelter.

A young man with jade-like skin was revealed on top of a dark horse with wings. Both seemed like holograms that would disappear when you blinked.

"Good empty powers! Do you know where you stand? You'll be surrounded in under a minute, let's see how good your powers last against the entire shelter!" The four-winged bird screeched at him.

Although it spoke with gusto, the bird didn't dare approach for fear of its life. When it saw the young man lift his fingers, it immediately flew back and recalled its four blades.

Bian slowly lifted his finger to the sky, as if he was pointing at something. As the four-winged bird looked up, it was filled with utter shock.

A halberd, tens of thousands of meters long, swung down like a world-dividing cleaver. The bird didn't even get a chance to scream before it was blown up.

[Super Creature Four-Winged Macaw killed. Beast soul has been acquired. Super geno core received: Demon Shuriken. Consume its life essence to gain 0 to 10 super geno points randomly]

The halberd shadow didn't slow down, it kept going and shattered an invisible bai sema protecting the aerial space of sacred shelter.

"Who dares!"

Multiple voices rose as several figures jumped to the sky, filling the air with a scary presence.

Bian saw spirits and beasts of all sizes and shapes soaring in the air. The skies seemed to be falling on him.

Half of those scary presences landed on Bian, while the other half focused on Tyrant, who was already mid-attack against an emperor spirit using a spear.

"Thousand lights pierce the night sky!" The spirit bellowed as he thrust his spear, leaving afterimages behind.

The attacks all stacked together, breaking space as it approached Tyrant.

Several of the other spirits simply scoffed and used all sorts of powers to strike Tyrant at the same time.

Bian wasn't exempt from this special treatment as fireballs, windblades, swordlights, arrows, and all sorts of attacks landed on him.

"Scram!"

Tyrant bellowed as a halberd shadow made a 360-degree rotation, destroying all those scary forces.

The cocky emperor spirit who attacked with the spear earlier was too close to avoid the attack.

He yelled as the spear in his hand turned into a toxic dragon, heading to counter the halberd shadow.

The fearsome toxic dragon was broken apart by that power, and the upper torso of the spirit was wiped clean off.

"What a monster!"

"We cannot beat it with brute force alone."

The smoke caused by the attacks which landed on Bian also cleared out at this time. He remained completely unmoved, while the entire area around him was decimated.

A light flew into Bian's soul at this moment.

[Got super geno core: Dragon Spear]

It was the geno core of the emperor spirit Tyrant just killed.

Bian summoned the Bronze Spear, watching it turn translucent as he grasped it.

"Kill them all."

He told Tyrant and commanded Nightmare to charge forward at the same time.

The creatures weren't going to let him pass through, but he did just that. The empty powers and speed of Nightmare made him untouchable, even though he was severely weak right now.

Tyrant attacked wantonly, none of the spirits or creatures dared to face that attack head-on.

A spirit dodged the halberd shadow just to blow up anyway. Then a mermaid spirit who was slowing Tyrant down also exploded.

"That bastard!" The leader of the sacred shelter cried out.

A bolt of lightning moved around the large shelter, going through buildings and people, while navigating from temple to temple.

Bian was directly attacking the spirit stones of the spirits, killing them in droves. He had Nightmare deactivate the empty powers to strike, yet his speed was too great to be counterattack in that small time gap.

In just a little over a minute, he had killed a dozen spirits. Normally, killing a spirit did him no good, but Bian found that he could increase the soul counter of the Solum Mirror by attacking their spirit stones directly.

As he and Tyrant killed, except for one special beast soul, Bian directly sacrificed every other beast soul to the mirror and immediately transferred it to the cauldron.

[Gemstone Cauldron]

[890/1500]

In less than two minute since he attacked, he had already gotten over half the souls needed to max out the cauldron.

Super beast souls were the most valuable type of beast souls after all.

The leader gritted his teeth as he commanded his most trusted subordinates to take out the spirit stones of all the remaining spirits and flee.

He of course knew Bian wouldn't just let them leave, but he believed Bian would save Tyrant if he was about to perish.

"You're using that treasure?" A dragon yelled in shock.

The leader brought out a weird metal key and turned the key mid-air.

Chains burst out from the ground and skies, binding Tyrant in an instant.

Tyrant flexed his muscles, but the chains got stronger the more strength he used.

"There's no use, this is the Dragon Imprisonment Lock. It was used to tie down a berserk super demon dragon for a thousand years. You cannot break it."

He paused and raised his voice.

"If you don't stop attacking right now, we will kill the Minotaur!"

Bian looked at Tyrant, who was bound, with a strange expression. He had been communicating with him and knew Tyrant had allowed himself to be trapped to gather as many creatures together as possible.

He did this because if all the super creatures fled, they would only be able to pick off four or five before the others got away.

Unfortunately, Bian wasn't sure the Cauldron could hold them. He hoped to level it up to super class before using it against any super creature.

He had no other choice but to use the special beast soul. As for the threat of them killing Tyrant?

"Try it and see."

Bian summoned the Solum Mirror and brought out the only beast soul he deemed important enough not to sacrifice.

[Beast Soul of Hegemon Porcupine King: One-off javelin]

A slender three-meter-long javelin appeared in his hand. Nightmare flew up like a burst of lightning, while Bian launched the javelin to the most populated part of the shelter.

"YOU DARE!"

The spirit yelled, but it was too late.

The porcupine javelin sank into the ground like it fell into water. A slender spike suddenly shot out of the ground and rose to a thousand meters in an instant.

Pah, pah, pah!

Thousands of quills broke out from the ground, impaling every creature and spirit, turning the area into a forest of death.

A quarter of the shelter was utterly wrecked in an instant.

"Ahhh! Kill him!"

A dozen super creatures and four spirits rushed at Tyrant with different powers and geno cores.

[Gold Solum Mirror]

[Retaliation: 0/700]

[Soul Capacity: 700/700]

[Advance / Transfer]

[Maximum Soul Capacity Achieved. Advance the Solum Mirror?]

The Soul Counter of the Solum Mirror maxed out in an instant. Bian was reassured that if a creature perished while close to the Solum Mirror, it would absorb their souls directly.

He transferred 610 souls to the Gemstone Cauldron and immediately levelled it up to super rank.

Multiple scary powers converged on Tyrant. Even the Dragon Imprisonment Lock cracked under the influence of those scary attacks.

Bang!

A mountain-sized dark purple cauldron suddenly fell over the group.

The mouth of the cauldron was so wide that only those creatures far away from Tyrant were able to escape.

"Ten super creatures and two spirits, not bad, not bad at all!"

The creatures which escaped heard Bian's laughter and were unnerved. A horned snake summoned a pair of black and white scissors that could cut through space itself.

Swoosh!

The attack was unable to leave even a scratch on the purple cauldron.

When they saw that, all their courage disappeared. Every spirit and creature turned to run their own way.

Bian was naturally able to catch up, but he couldn't do battle against super creatures in his current state.

He hunted down those creatures carrying the spirit stones of emperor spirits, making sure not to leave a single one alive.

The rest of them were too many for him to hunt down individually.

One of the strongest shelters in the fourth sanctuary was utterly destroyed in under an hour.

Bian went around the wreckage, picking up the life essence of those super creatures that had died earlier.
