Releasing a wave which spread from one edge of the sector to the other extreme edge, the Madam began a broadcast.
The ship they were chasing couldn't be tracked, but it was no issue communicating with it.
She even snuck in some viruses into the broadcast, trying to disrupt Bian in any way she could.
"The hostages you hid in Sirun's asteroid belt have been captured." The Madam paused slightly, as if waiting for a response.
Then after a second, she said "Surrender quietly and I can guarantee the hostages will be returned to the alliance safely."
Deafening silence was her response until another ship blew up far away.
The Madam gritted her teeth in annoyance, and ordered the guards to bring the survivors on board.
Just before they could carry out her orders, a series of explosions rang out in the distance and her device lit up a moment later.
"We didn't leave our positions, I swear!" A panicked Shura explained while sweating profusely.
"The ship suddenly appeared and kept on shooting while breaking through the formation. They've escaped."
The last sentence was basically a whisper, which the Madam wouldn't have heard if she was not a Fourth-ranked Shura.
Veins popped on her forehead as she yelled, "Open it now!"
Not daring to delay, the guards forcefully opened the bunker.
Then the remote which the Madam always carried emitted a chime.
How did she know the structure was still in one piece, even though she had pressed both buttons for self-destruct and life-support failure?
It was because the remote didn't give feedback that its instructions had been carried out.
Yet at this moment, as soon as the chime sounded, the bunker exploded in fiery blue flames.
Such an explosion couldn't hurt the Madam or her guards, but it thoroughly embarrassed her.
She hadn't felt this angry since her time with that green-haired woman. Several times the Madam had tried to kill her, but she was always one step ahead.
Now, she also felt like Bian was playing her for a fool.
Unfortunately, there was no way to keep up with or track down the Black Cruiser.
"Forget it, Reaver is already dead. Any more time I spend here will be detrimental to my mental health."
The Madam was truly the Madam. She, who was initially furious, forcefully calmed herself and immediately prepared to leave.
Bian's determination had her stunned. She figured he had probably saved a few figures who were important to him and left the rest to die.
Such a person wouldn't be easy to deal with, not that she could even deal with him.
"All troops resume your primary duty stations."
With that said, she went to gather her own entourage and make her way back to the Royal Court.
The shura underneath were also quite displeased.
They left in fleets heading back to where they came from, but among the fleets one only had two ships left.
They were unlucky enough to have three of their ships blown apart by the Black Cruiser.
Not to mention their initial post was quite awkward and steered away from most of the other shura ships.
The atmosphere between these two ships was quite solemn due to the massive number of losses.
Three days later, the ship ahead finally decided to break the ice and make contact.
"Captain Zack, which port would be more suitable for us to land in now? Seeing as a medium-sized one might be too large for just two ships."
"..."
The captain of the first ship waited an entire minute, but there was no response.
Just as he was doubting the communication device, the ship behind opened fire and compromised the shield integrity of his ship by fifty percent.
"Captain Zack are you mad! Why did you open fire?"
The Captain wasn't having it, he sensed something was wrong.
There was still time for him to react, since the ships needed to charge for half a minute before firing again.
In that split second while the Captain deliberated between firing back or reporting the situation first, a silver mirror floated atop the second ship.
The surface of the mirror emitted bright radiance like the mid-day sun catching the sight of all the shura on board.
"What..."
Before the captain could finish his words, a rectangular-shaped beam of pure incandescent scorching energy was fired from the mirror.
The energy shields only lasted for a moment before they were blown apart as the ship followed suit.
...
Inside the second ship, the cheering of humans could be heard.
Bian sat in the main control seat, behind him were three kids who were all about to break into their teenage years.
"You did it, we're saved." Tinker said happily and rested on the ground.
These last few days had been especially tasking. They were always surrounded by shura on all sides, fearing that one slip up would be the end of them all.
Bian just pulled off a very dangerous gamble. He finally spoke to the hostages, clearly informing them of the situation and even controlled the Black Cruiser manually without any pilot.
If they were caught, not only the hostages but even he would be in great danger.
That was why they had to blow up two more ships earlier ahead of schedule.
Those guys were trying to make contact, but after Bian snuck in, he already killed all the shura on board, swiftly and silently. There was no one to respond.
"A lot of things could have gone wrong, but it didn't. You're all safe now."
Aside from the Devon Trio, Bian even saw a figure that resembled his mother quite a bit.
It was the same woman he had saved from Blacktooth Shelter, which was where he had gotten the Blood-refine Sutra from all the way back in the second sanctuary.
It was just a coincidence, but this was the second time he was saving her.
What was even more surprising was the person who attacked him when he first opened the bunker.
Someone had escaped their cell, sharpened a bar of iron and threw it at Bian the moment he stepped through the door.
What was shocking was when Bian caught the first javelin, he felt something lock on to him, before the other figure realized he was also a human.
'But that posture and that lock-on feeling I got. This guy also practiced Vital Point Targeting.'
Judging by the aged appearance of the man who called himself Jian Gi, he should have picked it up long before.
Once Bian was done with the other ship, he set the path they would take to get to the alliance and left someone else in charge.
He had already greeted the Devon Trio and comforted them about Sebas. Now he went to meet this Jian Gi.
"Esteemed saviour, I apologise deeply for attacking you earlier." Jian Gi bowed.
"I've already told you it's fine. I'm not interested in your apology, but the way you attacked piqued my curiosity. I'm not one to beat around the bush, that was Vital Point Targeting right?"
Jian Gi gasped in shock, how did a powerful demigod know a measly thing like the Vital Point Targeting.
He quickly arranged his thoughts and responded. "Yes, sir has a sharp eye."
Although he was older than Bian, age didn't always equal respect especially when in front of a powerful figure.
Jian Gi thought for a moment and figured Bian had most likely also used Vital Point Targeting earlier on in his career.
He thought of something, sighed and continued speaking.
"Actually, I was among the first practitioners for this skill. Sir should have also practiced it right?"
Bian simply nodded, he was quite interested in the origins of Vital Point Targeting which gave rise to the three inner pillars.
Although he had made some findings, it didn't hurt to learn from those who walked on the path earlier than himself.
Jian Gi was also very sensible. Would a demigod just come to make small talk?
If it was anyone else, they would have only said a few words, but Jian Gi knew far more about Vital Point Targeting.
He explained to Bian how it was created by the Human Emperor in ancient times who believed that if he could master spirit, soul and body, he would be invincible.
"At last, his endeavours were futile. How is the soul meant to view the soul pillar? It's simply impossible."
"The Saints Hall had no choice but to turn it into what it is today, helping the unevolved who are a danger to society to train their aim. Unfortunately, it got quite a lot of them injured and even killed because of the large waiting time, and was removed in recent years."
"So that's the full story. I must thank you for letting me know."
"It's no problem sir. For you who saved our lives, it's the least I can do."
It was quite a pleasing conversation, and Bian came to realise something.
Even demigods wouldn't find anything special about the Three Inner Pillars. It was only someone who had a dual-soul that would truly be able to use it.
The soul can't view the soul pillar, just like a person can't look at themselves. They would need an extra soul to truly be able to use the Three Inner Pillars.
Although Bian's soul was perfectly synchronised with David's from his previous life, it still counted as his soul having duality.
"How exciting."
As Bian smiled, the lights of the alliance defense ships gleamed in the distance.
