After Professor Min recovered from his shock, Bian was finally able to ask the main question weighing down on his conscience.
"Actually, I have another reason for coming here."
"Of course you do, probably wouldn't remember me... if not..." Professor Min was about to make a sarcastic remark when he noticed the serious expression on Bian's face.
Instantly, the mood turned chill and he just nodded at Bian, indicating that he should speak.
"I'm looking for three kids from the same family. Mark, Tinker and Vincent, all with the same surname Devon."
"Missing?"
Professor Min asked, but his fingers were already typing away at his commlink.
In less than a second, the relevant information popped up and with a swipe, the information was sent to Bian's commlink.
With his current physique, it only took him a single glance to get the main point.
His face scrunched up as a trace of anger flashed by in Bian's eyes.
"Hostages? Multiple casualties, including surpassers and the Alliance kept this under wraps."
Bian was just learning about the untimely demise of Sebastian, the butler of the Devon trio.
Although he had not related with Sebas all that much, the butler had left a lasting impression on him.
He was strong, reliable, of good character, sensible—and most importantly, they had gone through a life-and-death ordeal together.
"It's not that easy." Professor Min shook his head, "The Alliance also has some royal-blood Shura in captivity, but they don't have as many hostages as the Shura do."
"So those Shura are delaying the exchange agreement, using the humans as bargaining chips."
Both sides wouldn't want to be on the losing end, caring more about saving face than the hostages.
If Bian was powerless to do anything about it, he could only pray, except Bian was anything but powerless.
A demigod with maxed out Ordinary and Primitive geno points as well as a silver geno core.
The number of people who could oppose him could be counted and definitely weren't more than a hundred... maybe.
"Can we find out where they're keeping them?"
Bian inquired from Professor Min.
"No, I know that look. You might feel unstoppable since you just became a demigod, but don't forget about the fourth-ranked Shura. Even without Shura change, their strength isn't something a new demigod can handle."
Bian knew Professor Min was speaking out of concern, but his mind was already made up.
'Too bad the black beetle can't hack into technology, I'll have to fish out the information the old-fashioned way.'
He doubted the Alliance knew where the hostages were kept anyway, he would find out himself.
Now that Bian had resolved to do that, he surely would, but first he had another pending issue to address.
"Okay Professor Min, I won't do anything reckless. Let's begin with the second thing we discussed."
Although Bian had said this to his face, Professor Min was not convinced at all.
'This kid, he doesn't know how boundless the heavens are. One slip-up and even you're done for.'
Professor Min could only hope that Bian's rationality would pull through and take control of his emotions.
Together they set up the apparatus and began their experiments.
He specifically disabled the security cameras in his laboratory because of Bian, who had beforehand asked for help with identifying more about the nature of his power.
Firstly, Bian took out two metal spoons and the composition and dimensions of the spoons were measured.
Then Bian looked around cautiously.
"Fret not, I've disabled all recording features and this room is among the most secured in the geno hall. Even the president of the Alliance can't know what is happening in these walls." Professor Min said with pride evident in his voice.
He was among the professors held in the highest regard throughout the entire Alliance. Such a position came with demanding responsibilities and powerful rights as well.
Bian himself wasn't too worried about the nature of his powers leaking out, he was a demigod after all. There weren't a lot of people who could challenge him.
Still, he had to be cautious. If he stood out too much, the Executioners might find him in the Alliance.
As for the only witness in the room, Bian trusted Professor Min. He had been his mentor since his first years in the academy.
Bian fused the two silver spoons using the Emperical Decree and they tested the new spoon.
"Amazing, the two spoons were almost identical before and you fusing them seemed to have formed the mean, in terms of dimensions at least."
The two spoons were almost identical, but had minute differences only able to be spotted by the precision machines in labs like the Saints Hall.
If compared to the spoon company standard, the first spoon could be quantified to 0.04 while the second would be 0.06, and finally the new spoon brought about by their fusion was 0.05.
"Bian leave that and come over here!" Professor Min called for him loudly.
Bian went over to the composition meter and the readings were quite surprising.
"Density only increased by half yet the durability was raised more than three times, this definitely isn't the same silver anymore." Bian muttered.
"Of course it isn't silver, have you ever seen such a dark sheen of silver? The readings show that this is Tantalum. You somehow created a Tantalum spoon from two silver spoons."
Truly, having Professor Min was of great assistance. He had already discovered the new metal formed by the fusion and Bian was learning more about how his powers worked.
Next up, he fused another silver spoon and a large silver spoon used for cooking. As expected, a new Tantalum spoon that was larger than a normal spoon, but smaller than a cooking spoon was formed.
After several more experiments, Bian understood one fundamental aspect of his power.
"I can't create new materials, only those which already exist. That's why fusing ordinary beast souls in the sanctuary creates a Primitive beast soul and not a new power rank."
The experiments with the Emperical Decree were swift and Bian soon reached his limit, unable to fuse two radioactive spoons as he was sure it would drain his life force.
Professor Min disposed of the radioactive spoons and they began the second phase of the experiment.
The Emperical Will!
Bian had never left the Emperical Will active when transcending to a new sanctuary, because he wasn't sure of the nature of his power.
What if the Emperical Will caused the most unlikely situation to occur and not just beneficial happenings?
Like what if he suddenly spawned at the bottom of a volcano? Such a thing had a very low chance of happening, but wasn't that the whole point of the Emperical Will?
To cause the event with the least probability to occur.
"Okay, let's start with something simple."
Professor Min flipped a coin and covered it, just as it landed on his wrist.
"Heads or Tails?"
Bian knew the Emperical Will couldn't help with situations like this, yet unexpectedly when he activated the Emperical Will, he knew to choose tail.
"Tails."
As Bian called it out, Professor Min took off his palm to reveal the coin, with tail facing up.
"Okay, next time I choose. Leave your powers active."
He said and immediately flipped the coin into the air, calling out "heads!"
The coin landed with tails facing up again.
'That's more like it, I think both the Emperical Aura and Will evolved when I became a demigod. Now the Emperical Will can actually guide me, instead of being completely passive.'
Bian was lost in thought while Professor Min kept tossing and calling out heads or tails, losing ten rounds consecutively.
"Fine, heads and tails, I win if either side faces up!" His voice involuntarily rose and a vein was visible on his forehead.
"Hey, that's not fair Professor!" Bian wanted to cry out, but Professor Min had already tossed the coin.
Clang!
It bounced off the floor once and rolled on the edge for a bit before coming to a stop, while still standing.
Both Bian and Professor Min had their eyes opened wide like saucers.
"I definitely couldn't do that as an Evolver." Bian exclaimed and they both agreed to move on to the next experiment.
Professor Min designed a random draw program and set the parameters so the chance of winning the grand prize was zero.
Bian, with the Emperical Will active, pressed a button and the screen displayed he had won the second-rated prize.
Professor Min adjusted the dial, setting the chance of the grand prize to a digit with more than a hundred zeros in front.
This time, Bian won the grand prize without issue.
"Such a fascinating power. As long as the chance is not zero, then it's guaranteed."
He would love nothing more than to document the experiments, but he knew how detrimental that would be to Bian.
Next, he changed the prizes.
The first prize and most difficult to get would be a single dollar. The third prize though, would be a million dollars.
"This is what I've been waiting for, this will determine just how unrestricted I can be in the future when using the Emperical Will."
Bian pressed the button with his heart pounding so loudly in his chest, he was shocked Professor Min couldn't hear it.
The program ran randomly and landed on the third prize.
"YES!"
Bian jumped up in excitement. He swore to activate the Emperical Will whenever he was transcending to a random location ever again.
'Such a shame, if I had used the Emperical Will when evolving to the third or fourth sanctuary, then wouldn't I appear beside an unguarded treasure or even near a nest.'
Bian quickly shook these thoughts out of his head. The past was gone and could never be recovered, he was not Executioner Green after all. He could only focus on the future.
"We aren't done here yet." Professor Min adjusted the parameters again.
This time Bian saw that the grand prize was 500 dollars and the second was a cup of chocolate milk.
"Try winning the chocolate milk." Professor Min told him.
The Emperical Will was already active, Bian thought about how he was craving chocolate milk and tried to focus his energy on it.
Then when he pressed the button, the program ran the random code and Bian won the grand prize of 500 dollars.
"Hmm, so you can't actively choose what you'll win, but it will definitely be something beneficial to you." Professor Min concluded.
Bian meanwhile was still a bit shocked with the outcome.
"It truly is a good thing I sought out your help Professor. I now understand more about the nature of my powers."
Although Bian was more powerful than Professor Min, he still showed him due respect as the experience of the professor couldn't be so easily replaced by Bian's expertise.
Finally another weight was lifted off Bian's shoulders, his child would be okay. He didn't know the exact reason why the Emperical Will activated itself during intercourse, but it must have been one of those things with powers.
Just like how jadeskin would activate itself if it's user was about to freeze to death or like how a fire geno art would automatically run when the user was in a fire energy rich environment.
Bian gave a bow and left Professor Min's lab to a lab that was temporarily given to him.
He couldn't just carry the name of a Professor without contributing to the Alliance research, so he figured to do just that since he was already present at the Saints Hall anyways.
