In the vastness of the Underworld, a world as immense as that of the gods, the titanic battle between the Great Goddess and Wamy was felt deep within. While most demons were stunned by the power displayed, two types of demons remained unmoved: the primordial demons. These overpowering entities, capable of defeating even high-ranking gods, stand at the top of the demonic hierarchy, a structure mirroring that of the deities. Among them, only the rarest can evolve into demon kings, beings transcending existence and non-existence.
The Underworld, shaken by billions of demons, echoed with cries mixing fear and fascination:
"The gods are too powerful!
We could never face such beings; it would be suicide!"
"We're no longer allowed to go out to face such power..."
At the heart of this turmoil, a timid voice rose: that of Velda Mañana, a low-level demon.
Velda: "Be quiet, you're making noise for nothing. It's not like they're going to attack us right away, or that we're necessarily forced to fight them. Anyway, you don't have to become a threat to these beings or what they protect."
A heavy silence fell, quickly broken by laughter and mockery.
"Who does she think she is? A lowly demon trying to give lessons, hahaha!"
"Don't ever do that again, idiot, ha ha ha!"
Velda lowered her eyes, clenched her fists, and murmured to herself:
Velda: "Why? Why am I a demon? Brainless beings, driven by primal instincts controlled by Lucifer himself..."
In an elevated hall, Lilith watched the scene, surrounded by the twenty demon kings, her children and those of the devil. A smile appeared on her lips.
Lilith: "I have a feeling things are going to escalate down there..."
Schela, the first demon king, spoke:
Schela: "Mother, what were you talking about?"
Lilith simply pointed to the lower area where the low-level demons were. The demon kings approached, intrigued.
In the crowd, the demons continued to boo Velda. A bit higher, the archdemons, more civilized, watched without intervening. Among them, Erasa, a demoness strikingly resembling the goddess Mü Thanatos, silently shared Velda's view.
Erasa: "She's right, but these idiots can't understand; they only follow their instincts..."
Velda, determined to leave, threw one last jab:
Velda: "You're really stupid; that's why you'll always remain Lucifer's puppets!"
The crowd exploded with rage, ready to massacre her. But before the first blow could land, a shockwave sounded: Erasa stood in front of her.
Erasa: "If you touch her, I'll pulverize you all."
The demons, indifferent, advanced further. Erasa raised her hand: all heads fell, except Velda's.
Erasa: "We don't need reality's mistakes like you."
Shocked, Velda realized the huge power gap.
Velda: "How is this possible? The gap between us and the archdemons is immense!"
Erasa turned around:
Erasa: "You don't have anything, I hope?"
Terrified, Velda shook her head no. At that moment, a primordial demon, GAaron, appeared.
GAaron: "So Erasa, you're playing tough with the low demons? Aren't you ashamed of interrupting their little family meetings?"
Erasa: "Mind your own business, GAaron."
GAaron: "For now, you're part of my business."
GAaron grabbed Erasa by the throat, paralyzing her instantly. Despite fear, Velda tried to bite the primordial's arm, without effect. GAaron grabbed her by the hair, suspended her, and struck violently. Erasa tried to attack, but her weapon broke on GAaron's tough skin. GAaron then also suspended Erasa, keeping them both powerless.
While GAaron held Erasa and Velda suspended, Schela, perplexed, addressed Lilith.
Schela: "Mother, why did you bring us here for this? It's useless."
Anube, another demon king, supported him.
Anube: "Yes, if you wanted a show, you just had to ask. We would have given an unparalleled spectacle!"
Lilith raised her voice, imposing silence.
Lilith: "Shut up! I never call you without reason. Something extraordinary is about to happen. As the mother of all, I feel it. So watch and be silent, idiots!"
Silence fell again as all fixed their gaze on the scene.
GAaron, still mocking, addressed Erasa.
GAaron: "Tell me, why don't the heads you cut off grow back? And yet, you haven't finished with them..."
Erasa, wounded and bleeding heavily, looked at the unconscious Velda.
Erasa: "I'm not stupid. If I only hit their bodies, or even their minds and souls, they regenerate immediately. So... I have to settle their story."
GAaron burst out laughing.
GAaron: "Well thought out. That explains a lot. Like now, you're almost in the same mess as them, because I touched your story directly, as well as Velda's. Tough to be hit at the vital source, huh? Hehehe!"
Erasa began to lose consciousness when suddenly GAaron abruptly released her, disturbed. She fell heavily to the ground and saw Velda, wounded but standing, holding GAaron's arm. Her power had exploded in a few minutes, surprising even the primordial.
GAaron: "How could she hurt me? Impossible! Yet she is much weaker than you, Erasa."
Velda, gratefully, addressed Erasa.
Velda: "Thank you, Erasa."
She healed her wounds, then resurrected all the demons Erasa had killed.
GAaron, furious, unleashed his huge black claws to attack Velda. But she suddenly disappeared with Erasa. All the demons present were stunned.
How? Where did they go?
At the top, Lilith smiled, and the demon kings understood what had just happened.
Velda held Erasa in her arms as they left the Underworld, transcending all dimensions to reach a place of infinite beauty, where galaxies and stars glittered everywhere.
Erasa: "Wow, where are we? It's beautiful here!"
Velda: "I don't know how we got here, but I wanted to escape the Underworld, and here we are. I'm still amazed."
Erasa: "Isn't this where the gods fought recently?"
Velda: "Looks like it. But let's be careful, let's not stay exposed. Take my hand, Erasa."
They held hands, and Velda opened a rift in time and space. They entered the spatial separation.
There, they observed multiple parallel universes, past, present, and future timelines, all linked to their universe. They were literally at the center of everything, able to be everywhere at once.
Erasa, thoughtful, asked:
Erasa: "Tell me, Velda, do you still plan to flee the gods or will you return to hell?"
Velda: "I will never return to that hell. I don't know how we managed to get out, but I'm taking this chance to never go back. And you, what's your plan?"
Erasa: "Me too, I won't go back there. But how did you gain so much power? I no longer perceive you as a mere existing being."
Velda: "I don't know, but this chance gave me the strength to never give up. I intend to make the most of it."
Suddenly, Erasa stopped.
Velda: "What's wrong? Why do you stop?"
Erasa slowly approached, hugged her while shedding tears.
Erasa: "Thank you for everything, Velda, my sister, my friend, my luck. But I think we must part ways. I don't want to be a burden if entities come looking for us."
Velda: "No, don't say that. You're not an obstacle. It's me who thanks you for saving me. I will protect you, no matter what, forever. You have my word."
Erasa released Velda and slowly moved away, out of time and space.
Erasa: "One day, I will become as powerful as you. I promise... Goodbye."
Then she disappeared.
Velda remained silent for a moment, then replied after a long pause.
Velda: "Goodbye, take care, my dear sister..."
