I let out a nervous laugh, initially finding the idea absurd, but his unyielding seriousness caused me to reevaluate my tone. "You're that beast?" I asked in disbelief, to which he remained silent, his gaze locked onto me, his lips lightly moistened.
Before I could press him further, he changed the topic abruptly. "Let's head to your pack, shall we?" Bruce suggested, walking away from me.
"What? No, come back here!" I cried out and reached for his shoulder. He quickly turned to face me, and I was taken aback to see his eye had a vertical slit and bore a fiery hue, resembling the one from my recurring dreams.
My scream pierced the air as I tripped and tumbled to the ground, painfully aware that the man before me was indeed the very beast I had seen in my recurring nightmares. He looked resolute and unwavering.
