"The name's Eren, no need to be so nervous, come on, am not gonna bite you, am just placing an order." His eyes smiled along with his lips and he placed the wooden menu slab on the table and interlocked his fingers.
"Am sorry, what.. what would you like to order sir?" I hardened my resolve just enough to proceed with his order as I had to remain professional at all times as stated in my contract for working here.
I looked at him as I took his order noted it onto my notepad and prepared to head to the kitchen I handed the notepad to the boss and took off my apron as i began to suffocate under the pressure of just holding a conversation with him.
"Boss, am going to take my lunch and feeling a bit light-headed." the boss proceeded to fan me off without looking up from the notepad I wrote the order on.
Still wearing my waitress attire just without the white frilled apron over it i stepped into the dining area of the tavern.
"Amy am heading out I signaled to the other waitress who had just clocked in to let her take over until returned from my lunch. My gaze waltzed across the room ignoring my conscious desire to not make eye contact with the customer I was serving before.
This time his eyes were laced with an anxious wonder and his face remained smiling while made the hair on my limbs stand on end.
Thwack!
I had a head-on collision with a hard metal surface that almost caused me to topple over but i was caught by a Leathered palm.
I steadied to my feet to apologize for crashing into the person but i was once again dumbfounded. All i could do my stand there staring.
My body froze and my breath was delayed as my heart slowed its beating almost to a standstill. My lips slowly parted as if to assist with my breathing but instead of breath, a single word escaped my lips.
"Beautiful."
"Why thank you, but also my sincerest apologies, I meant not to crash into you, are you okay?"
"N-NO! AM FINE I APW~" A sharp pain raced through my body instantly bringing me back to my senses, reminding me I was not in the place to be standing around dumbfounded.
The entire tavern went eerily silent a silence that was noticeable as it appeared, the air had become dense and all eyes were focused in my direction.
I grabbed my lips as the cold fluid flowed down my chin, the silence was then interrupted byaudible
whispers that buzzed through the previously still air of the tavern.
This rapid atmospheric change made me shiver as I felt my body begin to sweat profusely, the droplets ran down my back causing me to shiver and the stale taste of blood along with it made me fearful.
But,
Why am I afraid?
"Oh my you but you're tongue, we can't have that Joe can we?" A seductive feminine voice once again entered my ears causing me to jolt.
I then can't to the realization that I was bleeding way too much, this was way more than just simply biting my tongue, I was on the verge of offing myself.
That realization brought me to tears faster than I'd expected and I took one more look at the golden hair beauty before me. (The author won't describe her too much for plot reasons.)
She smiled gently at me as she saw the panic in my eyes. Raising her hands covered by metallic gold and silver gauntlets of her full body armor, she proceeded to remove them revealing the beautiful maiden hands below.
She then touched my face with her cushion soft Palms that made mine seem like sandpaper in comparison.
"I can't leave a beautiful maiden like you bleeding now can I." Still gently holding my face with her left hand she touched my forehead then smiled.
Before I knew it the bleeding had stopped, No it was like it had never happened. The blood on my chin and in my palms had vanished along with the stale metallic taste that threatened my taste buds.
"I am sorry, I can't spare too much time to chat but I am currently on an important mission you see. So once again I apologize, I must be on my way." The air around her changed as she mentioned her mission and the once welcoming air of a goddess was now carrying a tinge of darkness.
"Lady Rebecca, you're gauntlets." A girl who was half her height stood beside her holding her gauntlets while also carrying a heavy rucksack on her back. She had brown hair and wore a frilled knee-length maid's attire. She was also a beauty but this goddess in armor overshadowed her so much I hadn't noticed her until now.
I quickly stepped out of their way still looking back on them as they proceeded into the tavern before I finally made my exit.
….
After spending roughly forty-five minutes walking around the town center doing some shopping for stuff I packed at home and grabbing a bit to eat I decided to return to my shift early.
While the bustling busy town was packed with excitement the sun forbade any extensive expedition.
I placed my leather rucksack on my back and then made my way towards to tavern.
As I approached the tavern I saw the lady in golden armor walk away from an individual standing by the outside wall of the tavern.
It was Eren, I was a bit intrigued about his relationship with the goddess in armor who he seemed to have just been conversing with, but it was not my place to pry so in an attempt to act oblivious I pretended not to notice him and tried to walk by unnoticed.
"No need to act as if you don't see me." his voice traced my ears as his hand reached mine preventing me from walking by.
"Uh, I'm…"
"Eren, it's Eren remember, am I that forgettable?"
He looked me in the eyes with a welcoming smile on his face that made it hard for me to reject his approach despite being nervous around him.
"Yes, Uh Eren, am sorry, I just uh… didn't want to pry." I was still nervous when speaking to him compared to every other male customer who had approached me prior.
"You seem afraid of me, am not going to hurt you jeez. Oh, I know how about we go on a date, Are you off work this weekend?" I froze at his words and my bros began to repeat the last words he spoke.
"A-A Date?"
