The woman who caught Thomas Shannon's eye is indeed no ordinary person.
"May I be so bold as to ask, Miss Sullivan, how much do you already know about your own background?"
Sophie Sullivan narrowed her eyes slightly. Judging by her tone, could it be that she had thoroughly investigated even her background?
"Why is Miss Lillian Spencer so interested in my affairs?" Sophie chuckled. She didn't know her at all, so why was she so concerned about her matters? What was she after?
"Just curious."
With a single word, Lillian Spencer casually glossed over it.
"Is it really just simple curiosity? I think not."
Lillian Spencer knew she couldn't hide it from her, so she laughed too, clasped both hands together, and placed them on the tabletop. "Isn't Miss Sullivan curious why I know about your background?"
"If you want to tell me, I'm willing to listen."
