The butler hesitated at the doorway, unsure whether to report the situation to His Highness Lucifer.
The bedroom door swung open suddenly. Sophie had already changed out of her homewear and was dressed to go out.
"Miss Cecilia Branford, where are you going?"
Sophie walked down the stairs. "I need to leave temporarily."
"Sorry, Miss Cecilia Branford, I don't quite understand what you mean." What does 'leave temporarily' mean? Is she leaving now?
"I'm going back to find Thomas Shannon. The doctor who performed my facial surgery is in trouble. I have to go back to him and ensure his safety."
The butler immediately contacted Derek Clark, who quickly arrived in the main hall.
His face was tense. "Miss Cecilia Branford, are you sure you want to go back?" Thomas Shannon is no easy adversary. How will he treat her when she goes back this time?
"Derek, I've made up my mind. None of you need to persuade me." She paused, then added, "As for Lucifer, I'll tell him myself."
