Sophie Sullivan grasped his neck frantically. "Answer me."
The man pried her hand away with one hand, brought it to his lips, and gave it a light peck. "You tell me first, and then I'll tell you what you want to know."
In the end, she couldn't win against him.
Sophie Sullivan deflated. She lowered her eyelids, her tone completely devoid of the frantic anger from moments before. "I lost my memory."
"I know." Thomas Shannon gently rubbed her smooth cheek.
Sophie Sullivan continued, "My name is Sophie Sullivan."
"I know that too."
Sophie Sullivan grew angry. She lifted her eyelids abruptly, and deep within her beautiful eyes, two clusters of flames flickered, burning fiercely. "You know everything, so why are you asking me?"
"I was waiting for you to confess to me—when you remembered your name, and how much you knew about your own background."
Thomas Shannon stared at her intently, not allowing her the slightest hint of avoidance or evasion.
