Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: No Escaping Privately

"From now on, she is one of you."

The maid bowed her head obediently and said respectfully, "Yes, Young Master."

They walked through the long corridor and arrived at the Detached Courtyard located at the back of the castle. Sophie was pushed inside the bedroom, stumbling for a few steps before steadying herself.

The maid looked cold and said, "Starting from today, this is where you live. You must follow the rules while living here. Three things are not allowed: leaving the courtyard on your own, trying to escape, and disrespecting the Young Master."

Sophie snorted and didn't care about these rules at all. Although the asylum was dangerous, wasn't this place also a luxurious cage?

Ignoring her scorn, the maid left the bedroom. Just as Sophie was about to go out, the door panel stopped a few millimeters away from her nose with a BANG. She grabbed the door handle and tried to turn it a few times, but it wouldn't budge. The door was locked from the outside.

Sophie turned around. Since she couldn't escape for now, she decided to stay. The conditions in the bedroom were not bad. There was a bed, a wardrobe, a dressing table, and a Private Bathroom. Clothes, skincare products, and cosmetics were all provided.

She opened the wardrobe. Inside were rabbit costumes, sailor uniforms, and various other uniforms, all of which had one thing in common—they were revealing! Both sexy and revealing.

That man had such a twisted taste!

Sophie closed the wardrobe and entered the bath chamber. She stood in front of the washstand and looked at herself in the mirror.

This was the first time she saw her own face; her fingers trembled slightly as she touched the crisscrossed scars. How much hatred must there be for someone to treat her so brutally?

She painfully grabbed her hair and racked her brain, but her mind was a blank. She couldn't remember anything. The only thing she could remember was the name Sophie. Perhaps it was heaven's mercy that allowed her to remember her own name.

After waking up from the asylum, she was injected with a sedative daily and spent most of her time unconscious. Coming back to her senses, Sophie patted her cheeks. She silently told herself she would escape. Definitely!

After the maid left, she never returned to the bedroom. Sophie didn't care and lay down on the soft bed, her eyelids growing heavy.

Half-asleep, she didn't know how long she had slept before she opened her eyes. She vaguely smelled the scent of food. Rubbing her eyes, she went to the doorway and tried to pull the door, but there was no response.

Sophie raised her hand to knock on the door, attempting to have someone outside open it. Five minutes passed, and although she could hear the maid talking outside, no one came to open the door.

Sophie turned back and sat down on the bed, patiently waiting. They wouldn't just lock her up here for no reason. All she had to do was wait and see what tricks they were up to.

At night, the entire castle was like a dreamy kingdom, magnificent and gorgeous. Standing in front of the window, Sophie, who was already starving, wondered how to escape.

She tried to open the window and looked down. It was about eight meters from the ground. Jumping from eight meters would at least injure her if not kill her. It was not worth it.

She turned her head and looked at the bedsheets on the bed…

「Ten minutes later.」

With one end of the rope made by twisted bedsheets tied to the bedpost and the other end in her hand, Sophie cautiously slid down the window.

Seven meters.

Five meters.

"What are you doing?" A group of bodyguards appeared suddenly in the courtyard, shining a bright flashlight on her face.

She instinctively closed her eyes from the bright light, and her hands felt a burning pain.
