Seven o'clock in the morning, among the mountains.
Wade slowly descended to the mountainside, sensed the airflow inside the RV, and knocked on the door.
After a low-voiced conversation, a neatly dressed Shetty pushed open the door and handed him a towel. "Let's go, I've explained everything to them."
Wade used the towel to blindfold Shetty, grabbed her by the shoulder, and leaped into the air.
Flying from the mountains to the suburbs, the two remained silent the entire way.
A few minutes later, Wade looked down at the familiar building with the hot dog sign, slowed his speed, and landed. "Thought of a plan yet, Madam Dean?"
Shetty shivered upon hearing this and emphasized in a dark tone, "I will do my job of 'teaching and educating,' cultivating a large number of 'talents' and 'high-quality' graduates for Vought."
Wade hooked his finger and removed the towel from her eyes. "Your Godolkin University has so many superpowered college students, there should be quite a few countermeasures... Why not develop more weapons and restrictions specifically effective against Supes?"
Shetty looked at the ugly facial features close at hand, swallowed hard, and forced herself to endure the discomfort. "You certainly know a lot... Did you escape from a lab, or some institution?"
Wade let go, placed her on the ground, and turned the doorknob of room 215 in the motel. "Where I came from isn't important; what matters is what can be done."
Shetty walked into the room, packed the luggage left behind yesterday, and changed her clothes without any inhibition. "You want to leak those recordings to smear Vought, right?"
Wade leaned against the door, staring at her intently. "Right, and wrong... Now is not the time."
Shetty sat on the edge of the bed, bending over to put on her high heels, and looked up to ask, "When can you let my husband and daughter go?"
"Wait until the heat dies down," Wade said nonchalantly with a yawn. "If someone finds out your family has reunited, what would they think?"
Shetty picked up her briefcase, walked to the door, and said solemnly, "I need a specific time."
Wade sneered and opened the door. "That won't do... Whether the heat has died down or not, I'm the one who decides!"
...Ten minutes later, Godolkin University.
In the cafeteria, Wade sat at a dining table, dealing with a mountain of steamed buns.
The crowds lining up and eating breakfast nearby would occasionally steal glances at him and whisper, "Look, it's Cyclone!" "That's him."
Wade drank his milk oatmeal with a look of confusion, clearly perceiving thoughts of envy and jealousy flashing through their minds.
"What's there to look at? Am I eating that much?" He put down his spoon and looked around the tables.
There were plenty of people who ate more than him, yet no one was staring or pointing fingers at them.
Cate carried a coffee and a bag of croissants, the eyes of the crowd along the way focused on her, and a path automatically opened up.
She looked around and took a seat in front of Wade. "Hi, morning!"
Wade ate the meat buns one by one, asking while chewing, "What's going on? Why do I feel like we've become big stars?"
Cate brushed back her long blonde hair and smiled with a raised eyebrow. "Sorry, I officially announced our relationship."
"Would anyone be jealous of having a relationship with the famous 'Red Glove'? They'd barely have enough time for sympathy, right?" Wade slowly swallowed his food, expressionless. "Speak up, I don't have time to joke with you!"
Cate pulled a long face and pushed her phone over. "What happened that night while camping has been made into a documentary... Now the whole school thinks we got lucky and fought alongside The Seven."
Wade glanced at it; the screen was playing a trailer for 'The Seven: Anti-Drug Operation.' A group of young men and women were surrounded by bizarre Supe drug dealers, with the final scene showing the powerful arrival of Homelander, Black Noir, and Maeve.
"That's it? We didn't even do much." Wade continued drinking his porridge unconcernedly. "Isn't it just like being an extra in a celebrity movie? It'll be gone once the hype passes."
"Some people don't think so." Cate reached out to snatch the half-eaten bun from Wade and popped it into her mouth. "Jordan and Andre and the others... are fighting again because of what was hidden that night."
Wade's eyes shifted slightly. He knew Jordan Li still held suspected human experiment files and evidence of Vought's involvement in drug production behind the scenes; it was like a time bomb that could explode at any moment. Cate was getting bold too, daring to cause trouble if not disciplined for three days.
He kicked her under the table. "We'll talk about that later. Do you have class this morning?"
Cate put down her coffee and said with a smile in her eyes, "I have two sessions. Do you want to ask me out?"
"It's nothing." Wade picked up his tray with one hand, pressed down on her bare shoulder, and sent a cold mental message: 'Come find me at the stadium after class. You must come!'
...The sports training field was sparsely populated, and the air was filled with a faint smell of sweat.
Having eaten his fill, Wade flew all the way and landed in the power zone, continuing his air-lifting exercises as usual.
Today, he set a new goal: to break the muscle memory of relying on hand gestures to guide the airflow.
While frequently switching between various different abilities, he discovered a problem: whenever he used an ability, he would subconsciously make the corresponding hand gesture, and using another ability would involve a transition process of about ten to thirty seconds.
This problem would not only significantly reduce his combat power but also expose his habit of using different abilities under different identities.
Shetty, that naturally suspicious woman, had been secretly observing his habitual movements and way of speaking, which Wade only perceived through mind-probing.
He couldn't help but recall the content related to criminal profiling taught by Professor Brink: "If it's discovered that different people, despite looking and having different abilities, have identical behavioral habits and character profiles... after excluding all impossibilities, the probability of exposure will greatly increase!"
He wasn't just facing Vought and the military; being cautious was never wrong.
Wade hovered off the ground with his arms crossed, his whole body as still as a statue, his eyes scanning the four barbells on the iron rack, each weighing a ton.
"Rise!" he whispered in his mind, attempting to drive the invisible airflow with pure will.
The airflow was somewhat turbulent, and the barbell plates wobbled clumsily, making a dull sound of metal friction.
Wade's temples bulged and contracted slightly with his highly concentrated spirit, struggling against deep-rooted bodily instincts.
Gradually, the barbell plates stabilized and began to detach simultaneously and slowly from the iron rack support, eventually becoming completely suspended.
The four barbell plates rose steadily, beginning to fluctuate up and down in a regular pattern between half a meter and two meters off the ground.
During the entire process, Wade's crossed arms didn't move at all, maintained entirely by precise mental will.
Just as he was maintaining this delicate balance, a gust of wind whistled by.
The female Jordan Li walked over and waved her hand, "Morning, Wade!"
Wade turned to look; sweat soaked her loose training clothes, clearly having just finished her morning training.
Jordan Li sat on a bench press, panting heavily, "Heh... that piece of shit documentary, have you seen it?"
"Yeah, what about it?" Wade turned around, his temples expanding and contracting with his breath, the four barbells still fluctuating up and down.
Jordan Li picked up a water bottle to rinse her mouth, then poured the remaining water over her head. "I've really had enough; that film is all fucking fake! Should we... should we make those things public?"
Wade flew extremely slowly in front of her. "I support you. Have you thought about how to do it?"
Jordan Li looked up and sighed, her face full of conflict. "If I were to secretly spread it online, could Vought's relevant departments track it?"
Wade picked up a rolled towel and handed it over. "This isn't just your business. All five of us were there that night. If they investigate, none of us will escape."
Jordan Li hung her head dejectedly and slammed a fist onto the floor. "I know. Come to my dorm during lunch break; let's all have a good talk."
