It was the first time Olivia Lewis treated Adam Sinclair so kindly, even though her words were still laced with teasing.
Compared to the times when she used to threaten to break up with him at the drop of a hat, he felt that Olivia's attitude towards him was almost heavenly now.
He was almost overwhelmed with joy.
Although his eyes glowed with excitement, he dared not show it. He was afraid that if he seemed too happy, it would raise her guard, and she'd retreat into her shell, unwilling to reach out to him.
He pressed his thin lips together, trying his best to speak calmly, "Don't you still have me?"
"Me?" Olivia glanced sideways at him, saying, "Sure. After feeding the benefactor with enough public display of affection, I'll tie it to your wheelchair. Then I'll push you to the square and watch while I dance with other old men. How about that?"
Adam was truly overwhelmed, one could even say, he was ecstatic!
