Her gaze fell upon the dinner knife used for cutting the roast lamb, by some unexplainable impulse, she couldn't help but pick it up, looking at it in her hand.
The blade was very sharp.
She moved slightly, and in the blade's reflection, she saw her bloodless face.
Unable to resist, she ran her finger over the edge of the knife, a slight sting followed, with beads of blood oozing out.
She stared blankly at the blood on her fingertip, imagining herself slashing her face with this knife beyond recognition, no longer looking like Ellen Candi, and then she would be free...
She snapped out of her daze and saw Philip Shaw sitting opposite her, his expression cold and severe, looking at her: "Aldana, what are you doing?"
