Aldana Candi looked at the pile of people lying on the ground in disarray; these people should have been knocked unconscious by Eric Candi and Ellen Candi.
Ellen Candi blew a crisp whistle, and then a figure slowly walked out from the shade of the trees. Aldana recognized him as Eric Candi.
Just as Ellen said, he was still alive...
Seeing an old friend again, Ellen's emotions were a bit complex. She softly called out, "Eric..."
Then Eric walked over and took Aldana from Ellen's back, hugging her tightly.
The familiar warmth made Aldana feel a sense of peace. She lovingly reached out to wrap her arms around Eric's neck, pressed her face against his chest, and closed her eyes to savor this moment of tranquility.
