When Jean Beckman was mentioned, the expression in Mrs. Summer's eyes grew dimmer.
Because of that daughter.
She almost caused a double fatality.
For a moment, Mrs. Summer sighed softly, "If it weren't for her, how could I have had a premature delivery?"
Mary Perryne was stunned, "So, those rumors outside, they're all true?"
Mrs. Summer's face was full of a resigned smile, "No smoke without fire."
If they weren't true, why would there be so many rumors?
At this point, Mrs. Summer paused for a moment and continued, "To tell you the truth and not fear being laughed at, Beckman is completely hopeless now. I've had her father send her back to our hometown. Let her calm down a bit in the old house. Her father and I don't want to see her for the time being."
Mrs. Summer had thought about calling the police.
But upon further thought, no matter what, Jean Beckman was still her biological daughter.
She felt a pang of reluctance.
