Rivera – POV
"Out of my way," I warned, voice cold.
"Well, well, the little girl's got a sharp tongue," one of them sneered.
"What are you gonna do, sweetheart?" another taunted, reaching out to grab my hand.
Before he could touch me, my sword was out in a flash—one swift motion—and his hand hit the ground. His scream pierced the air, echoing through the alley. The rest of them backed off, stunned.
"I did warn you," I said, voice clipped and clear.
"Kill her!" one of them roared.
"Looks like we've got Cauldron royalty on our hands," another growled.
Suddenly, the stranger who had been watching me earlier stepped in front of me, blocking my path—his back now facing me.
"What do you think you're doing?" I demanded.
"You're looking for a knight, aren't you?" he said.
"Yes. How did you—"
He cut me off. "Let me show you what I can do."
