Sienna Johnson forced herself to stare at the movie screen, not allowing herself to look down. She'd heard that when watching horror movies, the worst thing to do was to watch a bit and then look away; apparently, they weren't actually that scary. What truly terrified you was your own imagination. If you watched the entire thing without looking away, you'd realize it wasn't so bad after all.
"It's just a movie. Do you really have to be so headstrong?" Adrian Desmond was rather annoyed by this trait of Sienna's.
The woman he desired should be gentler, weaker, content to hide behind him and manage the household, raising their children. Yet, this particular woman insisted on striving out in the world just like a man, attempting to stand on equal footing with them.
"I don't want to have any weaknesses!"
"Everyone has weaknesses!"
"That's why I have to work hard to overcome them!"
"We're on a date, not here for you to overcome your weaknesses! Can you please stop ruining the mood?"
