Her breath hitched as he kissed her. She pushed him away, panting, her cheeks flushed crimson, overcome with shyness.
"Did you miss me?" he asked in a hoarse voice, his eyes shining with ardent desire.
"If you missed me, then I missed you. If you didn't, then I didn't either!" She was still resentful of his recent indifference.

It felt as if he wanted to devour her whole, his uncontrollable strength growing heavier. She could feel a stinging pain and a wave of numbness on her lips.
He gave her no chance to breathe, holding her tightly, greedily inhaling her fragrance. Sienna Johnson's knees went weak; if he hadn't been clutching her waist, she would have stumbled backward awkwardly.
