Chapter 1004 - Chapter 1004: Persuasion Fails

In the Security Council room, Selene had already taken care of all of Pierce's subordinates. Natasha was now quickly operating the console.

The Russian member looked at the screen showing "Deactivated" and asked, "What are you doing?"

Pierce then spoke up, "She's deactivating the security protocols and releasing all secrets online."

While continuing to work, Natasha replied, "Including Hydra's."

"And S.H.I.E.L.D.'s. Once you do this, your past will be exposed for the whole world to see." Pierce added.

Not hearing a response from Natasha, Pierce spoke again, "Are you sure you want the world to see your true face?"

Natasha nonchalantly replied, "And you? What about you?"

Seeing that Natasha wouldn't be swayed, Pierce turned to Selene, "And you? Are you prepared to let her expose all of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s files?"

"These also contain information about Charles Agency, every ninja's intel, and the less-than-glorious past of Charles Doyle."

Pierce continued, knowing that S.H.I.E.L.D. had detailed records on Charles's past as a legendary assassin, as well as his alias, "The Hunter."

Though Jarvis had erased these files once, they had been re-entered into the S.H.I.E.L.D. system after an upgrade.

Hearing Pierce's words, Natasha glanced at Selene, well aware of Charles Doyle's shady past. If Selene was swayed, it would be dangerous.

However, Charles had already held a meeting on this matter, and Selene was one of the attendees. Back at the base, Red Queen had been waiting for S.H.I.E.L.D.'s secrets to be leaked, planning to seize them. It wasn't something to worry about.

Selene smiled and replied, "No one can threaten the Boss, and his story, don't you think it's inspiring?"

Upon hearing Selene's words, Natasha couldn't help but smile.

As expected, Charles Agency was reliable—this was under control.

On the other hand, Pierce seemed disappointed and began pondering other ways to approach the situation.

At this moment, Natasha heard Steve's call for support and immediately spoke up, "Selene, Steve needs backup. You might need to go help him."

However, Selene shook her head. She was still waiting for Pierce to unlock the access so she could feed on his blood. If he died before she left, the memories gained from his blood would be incomplete.

"Don't worry, I'm not the only one on this mission."

"I have to say, you're really lucky. Don't worry, there will be support for him."

Hearing that more support was on the way, Natasha was reassured and immediately said, "Hang in there, Steve. Backup is on the way. If you can't hold on, call the operation code."

Steve nodded in response to Natasha's message, "Understood."

With that, Steve picked up his shield again and charged forward to engage the four enhanced soldiers.

After hearing the communication, Maria Hill quickly asked, "Falcon, where are you?"

Falcon had said he had already landed, but there had been no sign of a replacement yet.

While evading attacks, Sam replied, "I need to take a detour."

Bam, bam, bam, bam!

The Quinjet behind him continued to fire at him. As Sam flew in a straight line, he locked onto the enemy and immediately pressed the missile launch button.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

More than ten miniature missiles were launched, directly heading toward Sam.

Sam immediately changed direction and flew along the underside of the helicarrier, flying close to the walls. These missiles, however, had automatic guidance and followed him closely.

But the missile guidance wasn't as agile as Sam himself. The missiles all hit the armored underside of the helicarrier.

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

Several of the last missiles even destroyed the area where the positioning chips were located.

Seeing this, Sam flew straight in, saying, "I'm in."

He then took out the chip and replaced it with the prepared positioning system chip.

After completing the operation, Sam jumped off the carrier and flew away.

As for the four enhanced soldiers stationed on the carrier, Sam had been flying beneath it the entire time, and never engaged with any of them.

Maria Hill saw that the positioning system on the B ship had been replaced and said, "One down, two left."

Meanwhile, at the Tower, fighter jets took off, and a team of pilots said, "All S.H.I.E.L.D. pilots, emergency takeoff."

"We are Captain Rogers' only air support."

Whoosh!

Boom!

A grenade launcher directly destroyed a Quinjet that had just taken off. The jet plummeted and caused an even larger explosion.

Boom!

Nearby staff were thrown into the air by the blast.

At that moment, Winter Soldier Bucky, holding a grenade launcher, aimed at the Quinjet on the runway and launched a grenade at it.

Many pilots were thrown into the air, and the Quinjet was severely damaged.

When nearby special agents tried to retaliate, Bucky picked up an assault rifle and opened fire, killing them on the spot.

He then grabbed a grenade and threw it into a Quinjet that had just closed its boarding ramp.

Boom!

Another Quinjet was destroyed.

One of the ground crew personnel picked up an assault rifle and opened fire at Bucky.

Clang, clang, clang!

Bucky blocked the incoming bullets with his metal arm and then punched the man to death. He kicked another person away, sending him flying into the engine of a newly launched Quinjet. The engine exploded instantly, destroying the jet.

At this point, there was only one last pilot left, who was about to start up his jet. Bucky jumped onto the top of the cockpit, shattered the glass, and killed him on the spot.

Bang, bang!

After killing the pilot, Bucky tossed his weapon aside, approached the pilot's seat, ripped off the glass, and threw the dead pilot out. He then climbed into the seat and activated the jet, heading straight for the helicarrier, ready to eliminate his target.
