Chapter 72 Region of Frost III: Mysterious Videle
Zarracen full of relief at the stoppage of combat relaxes herself a bit. Irritation present on her face at being maliciously attacked for no reason. Her eyes flicker to Isabella standing in front of her. Her Videle vibrating in irritation. She feels her pulse quicken. Not out of fear but attraction.
Her stance commanding. Chin up imperiously looking down on her uncle while staring up at him. Sidonius's eyes which had been harsh glaring at the knight were now wary. Eyes darting between Kita and Isabella. Zarracen's scales recede.
"She's a Drakkin," he says as an excuse.
"You didn't know about her draconic abilities before you attacked her," Isabella responds.
"I was — just testing her at first."
Liar. Zarracen knows a test. She knows when someone wants to see how strong another is. How they fight while holding back—using strikes that are dangerously benign. He came at her like a threat he had no issue in dispatching.
