A flash of blinding light. The weightless feeling of teleportation.
Then Atticus opened his eyes to an unfamiliar room.
'Where is this?'
The walls and floors were pristine white. It felt as though he had appeared in an advanced training room.
Though he'd only been in Nerrot's chambers twice, Atticus knew enough to know that this was far from it.
'Was I taken to another world…?'
He tensed, then almost immediately relaxed.
'This is Eldoralth.'
He could feel the connection to the world, one that granted him a sense of omniscience. He was god here.
'They must have moved the portal,' he surmised.
That brought Atticus to the one question in his mind.
'Where the hell is everyone?'
He had sent Kancilot back before battling the sentinels. Though Atticus hadn't communicated when he would return, he'd at least expected a small gathering when he did.
But it looked like they hadn't been worried at all.
'There's only… one person.'
