The sound of the whistle cut through the cheers in the stadium, and at once the players flung into motion.
Having won the toss, the home side had decided to choose the side of the field. That left the opposing side to start the kickoff.
Hiro received the ball right after the whistle. However, even before he could bring himself to scan the field, Lucien pressed on him.
The press was sudden and rather aggressive. It hadn't even been that long since the game had started, but here he was pressing so hard right from the start.
Such intense pressure from the beginning didn't make sense. However, Hiro wasn't in the mood to make sense out of things. He was here to win, and he would do whatever it takes to achieve his goals.
That being said, Hiro didn't flinch. Instead, he studied his opponent with a calm face. He had scanned his surroundings beforehand. Hence, he was aware of his teammates' positioning.
Lucien darted at him before lunging forward.
