The wagon came to a stop. I moved to the front as I overheard some members if the Taahid border guard talking to our driver. The air was thick with tension, and I could see the swirling sands adding to the atmosphere of uncertainty. I positioned myself discreetly to catch a glimpse of the situation before making my presence known.

As I inched closer, I could hear the guards debating among themselves. "Kuroriku merchanta," one man remarked, his voice low but firm. "We can't trust these rats."

"Merchant caravans, or so they claim," another guard replied. "But it's best to be cautious. We can't afford to let anyone through without thorough checks."

Feeling the need to intervene, I cleared my throat. The two stepped back at narrowed their eyes.

"Sir," Noel said, turning to look at me.

"Let me handle this," I said, climbing onto the front of the wagon which was being pulled by a single unicorn.
