We dismounted from our unicorns as we reached the gates.
I smiled and waved. "Hello, we're here to see the High Priest."
Amelia glanced at me and sighed softly. My directness wasn't always suited for courtly maneuvers, but she did appreciate it.
The guards exchanged glances. "The High Priest?" one of them said. "Do you have a letter written by him?"
I frowned. Eizan had contacted us about the meeting, but he hadn't given us a physical letter. Was that on purpose to put us in a bad situation. Although, that didn't sound like him at all. Was it Lady Amaya's idea then? Her astuteness and cunning seemed to rival that of Leonardo. But would she really do that?
