I found myself in an open wheat field. The air was crisp like that of home. How had I gotten here? I was pretty sure that I was taking a quick nap back in my tent while Amelia and Amaya ironed out the rules of my match against Eiro.
Suddenly, I heard a tiny meow. Looking down, I saw a black kitty with golden eyes staring up at me. Staring into those large innocent eyes felt like staring at a mirror.
"Well, hello there, little one," I crooned, crouching down. The kitten, the size of a three-month-old cat, sat upright, its tiny whiskers twitching as it tilted its head. It looked utterly charming, a hint of something mischievous despite its innocent gaze.
"You're a little troublemaker, I bet, huh?" I snickered, recalling my childhood. "Although, guess I was also a bit of a handful when I was little."
The kitty licked my calloused fingertips.
Snickering, I picked it up and lifted it unto my shoulder. "Amelia and the kids would love a kitty like you."
