They say snow conceals the sounds. In winter, when the ground is blanketed white and the sky is painted dull gray, the world is oddly silent. It's peaceful, people say, while some might call it lifeless.
However, in the farthest borders of the west, where snow is seen more than rain, and the sky is more gray than blue, even this thick white blanket of the earth can't drown out the frightening roars echoing in the horizons.
BAAANGGG!!
As if the sky itself was about to split, a threateningly bright beam of light shot up before spreading out in all directions. The light not yet dispersed, another bang of flash howled into the heavens, followed by repeated clangs of metallic collision.
"Is that all you can do? Hiding behind shields?"
A man's cry then resounded, accompanied by heated blasts of sword aura. Bang! Bang! All the silvery surface of the blade reflected was white light.
"Hah!" In his reply came only a scuff, one oddly tinged with a hush of amusement.
