Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: It's an Elf, but Double A级

Shami reappeared in a forest, which bore signs of a great battle. All that remained were the tree roots untouched by raging fires; the ground was charred, and gray soil turned to mud.

Not far outside the forest lay the Demon King Castle.

The Demon King Castle was now in ruins, surrounded by broken walls and debris.

With the Demon King, various demons were also vanquished.

Now, with the Demon King completely eliminated, the Demon King Castle quickly became a tourist attraction.

Shami approached the Demon King Castle, encountering people in diverse clothing along the way.

"Popcorn!"

"Does anyone need a guide?"

"Speaking of, during that day when the hero fought the Demon King..."

Shami activated his passive skill, [Demon King's Detection], consciously scanning the identities of people around him.

[Low-level storyteller]

[Snack vendor]

[Three-day newcomer pretending to be a guide]

More detailed information required him to touch these people.

"The Demon King Castle truly has no deterrent power left."

Along the path were people taking photos and videos with recording crystals; Shami bought a newly updated map from a vendor and muttered.

The Demon King Castle was located three thousand kilometers east of the Fess Kingdom.

Currently, visitors arrived through teleportation gates from various kingdoms.

After buying a ticket, Shami could enter the Demon King Castle.

Shortly after entering, a commotion arose.

"Look quickly, an elf!"

Shami glanced toward the noise and indeed found a beautiful young elf maiden with golden hair and pointed ears.

Though the Elf Race and Human Race were friendly, elves were inherently few in number and their status noble, seen only in major cities like the royal capital.

To see an elf here was considered rare.

Shami glanced briefly. Undeniably beautiful.

The elf maiden appeared to be twenty-eight years old, with a height of about 1.6 meters. She had golden curly hair typical of the Elf Race, with sharp ears, an unblemished face, creamy skin, wearing a unique elf skirt, slim legs, and a delicate figure.

Double A-grade.

Shami instantly lost interest and quickly left.

Lureya Youze Aigal gazed excitedly at the Demon King Castle, taking small steps to run in.

This was indeed the Demon King Castle.

Just imagining the battle between the Demon King and heroes here was enough to excite her!

The Elf Race could also produce heroes, but those had nothing to do with her anymore.

In yesterday's Elf Race spiritual power test, the stone testing her spiritual qi measured her at rank three, where she was completely sentenced to death, severing ties with the path of the hero.

Henceforth, she could only live as an ordinary elf of extraordinary beauty, marrying princes of various human kingdoms, becoming a queen, living a life of luxury, indulgence, debauchery, and fleeting dreams.

Thinking of this, Lureya couldn't help but sob.

While it was still good, she wanted to prove herself more, becoming a hero to defeat the damn Demon King!

Thus, at the first moment Lureya heard the announcement of the Demon King's Heir's reappearance, she fled from the Elf Forest to the ruined Demon King Castle.

She wasn't here casually.

It wasn't long after the old Demon King was eliminated; although no demons were left in the Demon King Castle, there was surely heritage left unseen.

Goblins had specialized inheritance books for their craftsmanship. She definitely didn't believe that previous Demon Kings had no legacies passed down.

Each time a Demon King died, the next would have to start from scratch, yet could still grow into a super demon race requiring all factions to unite against? Completely unbelievable!

The Demon King surely had things that needed inheriting!

The new Demon King's Heir certainly came to gather up those legacies.

Lureya had read extensively in the Elf Library, her mind full of knowledge.

Demon King's Heir, I'm just off the teleportation gate, now in your old lair, the Demon King Castle. I'm coming to catch you right now, so if you are sensible, show yourself quickly!

The blonde elf clenched her fists, brimming with determination, heading into the depths of the Demon King Castle to catch the nascent Demon King.

Shami feigned himself as a tourist, following the route slowly, moving deeper into the Demon King Castle, down a winding staircase to the first floor underground.

Everything he needed to collect was on the second underground layer of the Demon King Castle.

The developers may not have noticed there was a second underground layer at the Demon King Castle. Hence, maps to the castle only extended to the first underground floor.

There were far fewer people on the first underground floor, with most visitors merely indulging curiosity, completing a round according to the map before leaving.

Shami slowly walked to the deepest part of the first floor underground, which was entirely deserted. On a common stone brick wall lay a concealed secret door.

After checking his surroundings and finding no one, Shami pushed open the secret door and entered.

A winding staircase led straight downwards into the depths, candlelights on the walls cast a dim glow.

Soon after Shami walked in, the secret door was pushed open again, revealing a sneaky golden-haired pointed-ear figure following him.

Descending the staircase to the lowest point was a bottomless abyss, its center occupied by a pointed-top, flat-base meteorite platform linked to surrounding cliffs by thick iron chains.

A stone staircase extended from underneath Shami's feet to the meteorite platform.

It definitely carried the aura of a Demon King Castle dungeon.

Shami tested the steps for stability before stepping onto the platform.

A beautiful altar was placed on the platform, featuring three items.

Extending his hand to touch, the altar emitted white light that gathered above the table, eventually forming a humanoid shape.

A Demon King with double horns appeared amid the light, his outfit billowing without wind, his indulgent, timeworn face gazing skyward.

"Successor to the Demon King, I am Demon King Luwaka. When you see this message, I have already been vanquished by heroes and no longer exist in this world."

"Everything I built for the demon race was destroyed by those damned heroes."

"Yet the legacy of the Demon King shall not be severed. The Demon King's Power will guide you to me, revealing the three legendary demon artifacts of the demon race. Take them and usher in a new era of demon race prosperity!"

Shami examined the three items on the altar. From left to right, they were a Demon King Castle model made of dark light resembling a figurine, an ordinary ring, and a book.

[Name: Heart of the Demon King's Castle]

[Description: Demon King Castles of all generations were built using this Heart of the Demon King's Castle.]

[Name: Demon Ring]

[Description: A ring with extraordinary spatial storage abilities]

[Name: Demons Atlas]

[Description: Contains a manual of all demons. Necessary for constructing a demon army.]

So that's how it is.

These are the three items he needs to collect for the main quest.

Shami put on the Demon Ring.

Quite user-friendly.

He did not initially pay attention, but placed both the Demons Atlas and Heart of the Demon King's Castle into the Demon Ring.

There seemed to be other items stored within the Demon Ring, but Shami didn't have the time to check.

Once acquiring the items, he needed to return to the Newbie Village first.

That was the safest place.
