Wayne Adams felt even more disheartened when he heard this.
He wasn't economically compatible with Cecelia Anderson, and now he was falling behind in looks as well.
Anne Bacon saw the gloomy expression on Wayne's face and sat down directly across from him, asking, "Do you think I'm a good match for you, Wayne?"
Wayne frowned. "That's not funny."
Anne Bacon and Terry Brown were both his business partners, and he respected them, including Anne.
"Just answer my question honestly. Look, I'm not bad looking, right? My financial situation is pretty similar to yours, and we're great business partners. We even have common interests. So, do you think we're compatible?" Anne persisted.
Wayne replied with a furrowed brow, "It's not about whether we're compatible or not, it's about..."
"It's about the fact that Cecelia Anderson occupies your heart, isn't it?" Anne continued for him.
Wayne was silent, and Anne knew she had touched on his inner thoughts.
