"Don't snatch mine! Don't you still have some?"
"Taking one bite won't hurt anything."
At this moment, a noisy clamor rang out from inside the pizza shop as Perry and Sally fought over their breakfast.
"Don't fight over it, there's still more..." Annie's lips curled up slightly, her mood extremely cheerful. This kind of scene happened every single day back in the castle as well.
After all, the food in Sedona City was even better than that in the Valtoria Capital. Anyone who had tasted Sedona City's cuisine would never want to go back to eating their previous food again; there was simply no comparison.
Today was Perry's 7th day in Sedona City. The 1,800 spears she had requested were already finished being forged, and today was also the day they would bid farewell to Lucas and return to the Sahara.
After all, the beastkin tribe still needed her to go back and take charge. If she left for too long, she was afraid something might go wrong.
"Annie, are you sure you don't want to come back with us to take a look?" Perry's mouth was stuffed full of pizza, with a few stains lingering at the corners of her mouth. She had completely lost the majesty and dignity expected of a beastkin princess. During her days in Sedona City, she had entirely unleashed her true nature—especially her love for food.
"Mm, maybe in a few days. Once Sedona City isn't so busy, I'll go!" Annie shook her head, resting her chin on her hands and blinking her long eyelashes.
Currently, a number of Sedona City's internal affairs were being handled and followed up on by Annie. If she were to leave all of a sudden, the castle would be thrown into chaos. Although Nicole would also help, the two of them focused on different areas.
"You couldn't have fallen for that Lucas, could you?" Perry narrowed her eyes slightly and leaned her face close to Annie's.
"No I haven't. Big Sister, don't talk nonsense," Annie pouted, two patches of blush blooming on her cheeks, redder than if she had applied rouge.
"Still denying it? You're already blushing," Sally raised an eyebrow, making muffled sounds through a mouth full of food.
"Even eating pizza can't plug that monkey mouth of yours. Taste my Eighteen Monkey-Subduing Scratches!" Annie raised her hands and lunged straight for Sally's stomach.
"No... I won't dare do it again... hahahaha!" Sally, caught right in her ticklish spot, almost spat out the pizza in her mouth.
"Little monkey, let's see if you dare spout nonsense again," Annie said haughtily.
"..."
Breakfast passed by amidst laughter and joking.
Afterward, Annie took Perry and Sally out to buy quite a few things, even going on a shopping spree through the Gold Coin Supermarket.
They only returned to the castle during the hottest part of noon, just in time for lunch.
Inside the dining room.
"Hey, where's Lord Lucas?" Helen twitched her rabbit ears, her eyes looking around.
"The Master went to take a bath," Nicole said softly, casually placing a plate of scrambled eggs with tomatoes on the table.
"A bath?" Annie tapped her chin with her index finger, though her eyes remained glued to the plate of scrambled eggs with tomatoes.
"The Master went out for an inspection, and since the weather is so hot, he worked up quite a sweat," Mina said, her ears perking up. The cat tail behind her swished back and forth, and her own hair was still dripping wet.
This summer was exceptionally hot. Lucas hadn't yet begun researching how to use saltpeter to make ice, and the few small fans currently in the castle were merely treating the symptoms rather than the root cause.
Let alone Lucas, a man; even the beast-eared girls in the castle had to take two or three baths a day, lest they reek of sweat. The beast-eared girls certainly didn't want to smell bad.
Creak...
At the dining room door, Lucas walked in using a towel to wipe his semi-wet hair. He wore a set of gray short-sleeved clothes, leaving the clear muscle striations on his exposed arms fully visible.
Off to the side, Perry and Sally watched Lucas's casual movements and found it incredibly fascinating. It was rare to see a noble so casually drying his own hair.
"Ahem..." Lucas coughed lightly, glancing at Perry and Sally. He knew that the two hadn't completely adjusted their mindsets yet.
"Master, it's time for lunch," Nicole said softly, stepping forward to take the towel from him.
"Mm." Lucas nodded, a smile playing on his lips.
"Your Excellency Lucas, um..." Perry's eyes flickered.
"Let's eat first," Lucas said softly, knowing exactly what Perry wanted to say.
He had caught sight of the monkey-eared girl trying desperately to hold back her drool and couldn't help but smile. The monkey-eared girl had changed a lot over these past few days; she didn't seem nearly as hostile toward humans anymore.
Of course, that only applied to the humans who cooked delicious food.
"Mm, alright, let's eat first," Perry glanced at the monkey-eared girl and sighed inwardly. I'm definitely not bringing her next time; this is simply too humiliating.
Lucas picked up a piece of fried chicken and popped it into his mouth. Seeing this, the beast-eared girls immediately launched into a scramble for food.
"Ayesha, you big milk cow, why are you snatching my scrambled eggs with tomatoes!" Annie shouted, pouting.
"You don't put on any meat even when you eat, so stop wasting food," Ayesha said, promptly dumping half of the scrambled eggs with tomatoes into her own bowl.
"Mina, don't you still have some over there?" Annie clamored again.
"And you, big monkey, don't you dare touch mine!"
"..."
The fox-eared girl continued to clamor, her hands moving just as fast as she fought for her share. The castle wasn't short on food now, but this habit of battling over meals had somehow stuck around.
Watching this scene that played out every single day, Lucas couldn't help but smile, and subsequently joined the great food-snatching war himself.
A dozen minutes later, everyone was sprawled out in their chairs, rubbing their little bellies with expressions of utter satisfaction.
"Your Excellency Lucas, we've come to bid our farewells," Perry said, looking a bit embarrassed.
The way she had just wolfed down her food moments ago didn't resemble the dignified eldest princess of the beastkin in the slightest; rather, she had looked like a Goddess of War conquering the dining table.
"I've already had the spears sent onto your ship. I'll send people to escort you back," Lucas said softly. He was worried that if news leaked out, someone might try to rob them along the way.
"Thank you for the trouble, Your Excellency Lucas," Perry said gratefully.
"It's just a partnership," Lucas waved his hand dismissively.
"Then, we shall set off this afternoon," Perry said crisply, a smile on her lips. "Whenever you are ready to encircle and intercept Greena, just send someone over with a letter."
"Alright," Lucas nodded. He turned to the fox-eared girl and said, "Later, go and see Perry off."
"Okay!" Annie replied in a crisp voice.
