Chapter 534 - Chapter 531

"Amelia, did Lord say where we are going?" Elisa asked coolly. She was currently wearing leather armor, a recurve bow slung over her back and a quiver of long arrows tied to her waist.

The Lord had notified her to wait at the castle gate with Amelia, but she didn't know what for.

"Flying," Amelia said coldly, standing lightly on the tips of her toes, her green eyes looking expectantly towards the city gate at the end of the main road.

Today, her father Lucas was going to take her to truly fly in the blue sky. She had been waiting for this day for a long time, so after lunch, she didn't go to school with Helen and waited here instead.

"Flying?" Elisa was astonished, then immediately thought of the hot air balloon. Were they going to ride a hot air balloon again today?

Clop, clop, clop…

The sound of a carriage running drew the attention of the two. They saw Lucas's ride, along with the members of the War Wolf squad.

In a short while, the carriage stopped in front of Amelia and Elisa. Before the carriage had even come to a complete stop, the young girl leaped lightly onto it, making Elisa roll her eyes.

"Do you have to be in such a hurry?" Elisa muttered, also jumping up and getting into the carriage compartment. The carriage then started moving again.

"There's no need to rush," Lucas said helplessly, looking at his adopted daughter squeezing next to him, and the pouting fox-eared girl on the other side.

"Hey, hey, Amelia, there's so much space elsewhere, why are you squeezing in here?" Annie was glaring at Amelia. She had been forcibly squeezed away from the Master's side by Amelia.

"I want to sit here," Amelia said, full of confidence, before glancing coolly at the fox-eared girl.

"What?" Annie's mouth fell slightly open as she looked at the girl's indifferent face. Do you have to be so blunt?

"Honestly..." Lucas sighed, reached out his arm to wrap around his adopted daughter's shoulders, and with a gentle effort, pulled her closer to his side, freeing up the spot next to him. He smiled at Annie, "This should be fine."

"..." Amelia relaxed into her father's arm, feeling the comforting warmth of her father Lucas.

"This..." Annie was dumbfounded, staring blankly at the girl whose cheeks were slightly flushed from excitement. Her fox tail swished, and she bit her silver teeth lightly.

Mina had a smile on her lips, her eyes watching the frustrated Annie. She shook her head helplessly; this somewhat tsundere friend of hers would probably always be outmaneuvered when it came to matters of love.

She didn't need to compete. She had given her first time to the Master, and had also taken the Master's first time. No, it should be more than just the first time; the second, the third... many times.

Elisa stared wide-eyed at the cold girl's maneuver. This is also possible? It was a new piece of knowledge for her.

Clop, clop, clop…

As the carriage moved, it rolled smoothly along Sedona City's well-paved roads. Amelia, brimming with excitement, pulled a small, worn notebook from her pocket and showed it to Lucas. "Father, look! I drew the hot air balloon we rode last time," She said, her usually cold tone softening with enthusiasm as she flipped open the page to reveal a detailed sketch of a balloon soaring over green hills.

Lucas chuckled, ruffling her hair gently. "That's impressive, Amelia. You've got quite the artist's touch. Maybe you'll design our next balloon."

Amelia's green eyes sparkled, though she tried to maintain her composed demeanor. "Maybe," She said, tucking the notebook away, but a small smile tugged at her lips.

"Hey, let me see that!" Annie leaned over, curious, her fox ears twitching. "You draw? Since when?"

"Since always," Amelia replied coolly, though her cheeks flushed slightly as she glanced at her father for approval.

"She's been sketching for some time," Lucas said proudly, his arm still around his adopted daughter's shoulders. "Keeps it quiet, though. Don't you, Amelia?"

The girl nodded, leaning into her father's side, her excitement for the day's adventure bubbling beneath her calm exterior.

Mina smiled, watching the exchange. "That's adorable," She said, her cat tail swishing gently. "You should show us more of your drawings sometime, Amelia."

"Maybe," Amelia repeated, her tone noncommittal but her eyes betraying her pleasure at the attention.

Elisa, peering over from her seat, raised an eyebrow. "Didn't expect you to be the artsy type," She teased, adjusting her quiver.

"I can do anything," Amelia shot back, her confidence returning as she sat up straighter.

"Master, how much longer until we arrive?" Mina asked, her voice light, trying to keep the conversation flowing. She knew where they were going, having been there before, but she enjoyed the group's banter.

"We're almost there," Lucas replied, glancing down at his adopted daughter with a warm smile. "Just a bit longer, and you'll get to see the sky up close again."

"Huh? Where are we going? We're not going to the research department?" Annie's attention shifted, her curiosity piqued. She lifted the window curtain to look outside.

"We're, we're going to an interesting and secret place," Lucas said, his tone playful as he winked at Amelia, who smirked back, sharing the little secret between father and daughter.

"Oh!" Amelia let out a small gasp of excitement, her hands clapping together softly. She leaned forward, trying to peer out the window with Annie. "Father said it's even better than last time!"

"Last time was already amazing," Mina said, her eyes glinting with amusement as she watched Amelia's rare display of enthusiasm. "What could top that?"

"You'll see," Lucas said, his voice full of mock mystery, making Amelia giggle—a sound so rare it caught everyone off guard.

"A giggle? From Amelia?" Elisa teased, her lips curving into a grin. "This trip must be special."

Amelia huffed, crossing her arms, but her flushed cheeks gave away her excitement. She leaned back against her father, who gave her shoulder a reassuring squeeze.

"Phew..." Lucas let out a breath, amused by his adopted daughter's energy. He glanced at Mina, who was watching with a knowing smile, her cat tail brushing against his leg playfully.

"..." Mina's cheeks flushed slightly, her eyes meeting Lucas's for a moment before she shyly looked away.

"Ahem, ahem..." Elisa coughed lightly and turned her body toward the window, hiding her smirk. She thought to herself that Lord Lucas really knew how to make a carriage ride lively, with his and Amelia's shared excitement filling the air.
