Chapter 531 - Chapter 531: Charted

"C'MON THEN!! KEEP GOING!! KEEP SHOWING ME WHY YOU DESERVE TO COME BACK HOME!!!!" The Dragon screeched, as he'd reposition himself and watch as Koina would come back to her proper senses.

She'd begin to sweat bullets as Taro approached, letting the Earth Dragon circle itself around the makeshift iceberg, digging its claws down to pin and protect it, a shell of stone encroached across the frost. "Well!?!? I'm waiting!!" He demanded again, arms wide open, deliberately being slow in his steps. She knew she can't win a direct fight, especially with three dragons prepared to attack. Her eyes dart around to find an opening, but no matter what she could find, none looked like a chance she can take. She could evade to the left and keep away from the Paradox dragon, but it'll only serve as a wide opening for the Gem Dragon to attack in such clusters. The same can be said if she goes to the right, and darting straight ahead would mean certain death before the King's hands.

She's going to have to do a gamble.

Dagger in hand, she'd channel as much energy as possible, though changing it from a Wyvern in its inscription to Fish. An immediate spin around herself, letting it conceal her in a barrier, an attack that immediately makes both beasts blast down their breath weapons on both sides, as Taro charges ahead, flipping through his switches again, as he'd prepare his own smog to act as an extra attack in the case she interrupts his press. As he'd get close, he'd see such fish and would be on his guard, clicking within his mouth to light it and blast down a ray of fire, condensed into a beam to pierce through the aquatic shell and try to rip through her underneath. When he did, however, he'd see as the waters parted another smog appearing. Blasting away, the fog would swarm against the Vritra, forcing him to back away and split it, changing his aim altogether to prevent himself being caught under whatever effects were integrated in both. As he predicted, he noted Koina's magic carrying over the Dragon's attacks and returned them back to sender, as she'd charge through ahead with those two styles.

To take such an attack on both sides would ultimately result in a weaker output, and thus, a weaker attack. To make such a mass and use it against the Vritra would mean she'd have to rely on the Dragons being alive and the factor such an attack hits. Knowing the latter was nigh impossible, she'd make sure to capitalize on whatever was available from the former and what little she can work with in said latter. A personalized smokescreen through the enemy's forces to gain the upper hand. Taro would try to shift his sharp beam, but it held just enough delay to not reach her entirely, allowing her to get away freely with her next maneuver, letting the barrier carry over and shred into the Earth Dragon. Trailing up from the tail and making way through its back, Koina would see the varying elements interact with the beast, seeing at how some would interact. To her surprise, some of such elements, such as Thunder and Fire, do less damage than those with Water and Ice. When she would notice the Metal Dragon closing in, trying to provide assistance in the falling beast, the reverse occured once she launched her barrier towards it, where Thunder stunted its movement, and Fire melted down its alloy-like body. "It's like a type chart. One is stronger than the other...!" She'd think to herself, before hearing such clicks as another set of Mahjong Tiles flip over and prepare another summon.

Ice, Ice, Fire, Mind. A Cerulean blue would be emitted as the Dragon launches out, though Taro reserves it just enough to capitalize on the spilt water from what remained of Koina's Barrier, allowing it to trail ahead and summon it through her shield, letting it bite into her arm and force her to drop her dagger. Such a beast was entirely made of Ice, no eyes or nose to be seen. A pure construct that would create a blizzard with its wings, both to slow her movements and to extend the Iceberg's reach, freezing her body over as a result. From her legs to her chest, she was being encased, a roar escaping from her voice as she'd try to force herself against the frost again and again, bashing her head back, bleeding from the wounds, not showing any signs of stopping. Eventually, with enough power, she'd make a crack against the Iceberg, letting the elements seep into the fracture just in time before it was sealed by the blizzard, the intense heat and voltage quickly breaking it apart from the inside out. Even as she was battered and worn down, she'd smile as she'd watch the prison she was bound to break away.

Adel would witness the Ice Dragon firsthand, leaping away to evade such blasts of cold, before going around and tugging it by its tail, once again using such beasts to act as a weapon. However, Taro was more than prepared, as he'd snap his fingers and let the beast shatter before the Serpent, a living grenade of chill that'd flash freeze most of his body down, restricting his movement, as the Earth Dragon's remains come tumbling down, attempting to crush them in such an avalanche. "Surely that is not all you two can muster, right?" A taunt, as he'd walk forward, preserving as much energy as possible, letting the calm cold refresh his body, his mind slowly being at ease, as he'd walk into such a blizzard and try to find the two that damaged themselves to match against the Shadow Mages second strongest in its army. Only blood stains and torn flesh were visible. "Okay... So if I remember the Serpent's magic style... this would be his fourth death? Potentially his fifth if he died while being encased in ice. It SHOULD Kill him, but it also more than likely preserved him to stay alive. With how that Assassin took it, I'd also wager she wouldn't be able to fight back anymore, at least not properly with that level of brain damage she gave herself..." Deep in thought, once again.

The perfect moment to aim for a cleave across his neck.

SHIKK!!!
