Chapter 410 - Chapter 410: Cubism, Part 7

As Envy swooped in for the attack, Bathory and Mawkin would split themselves up, with the latter aiming to use the straw in order to sink into the tar and solidify his structure again. The living Tar took notice and immediately makes holes on himself, letting the straw fall out as he aimed to clap between the caster's temples, stunning the Farmer and immediately incapacitating him. Bathory would coat her hands in her own blood, solidifying them to become claws, a white liquid secreting out of the tips. Envy would try to keep his distance, yet the Vampiress was quick in closing that gap, a stab straight into his chest, aiming to strike at a vital. Because of him being living tar, however, it was merely able to reach a few inches before stopping in its tracks, as he'd grip at Bathory's neck and winded up a gut punch. "I take it you were at least prepared for this?" He'd ask, already anticipating the attack coming soon, causing Tsukiya to be curious at what he meant by such.

BWAAAAAH!!

Disintegration. A vacant crater that once held Envy's chest, now hollowed out, with his vital heart moving in an instant away from the claw that entered in his system. "Flattering how you actually remembered my techniques..." Bathory commented, prompting further confusion, as the Vampiress tried to push through Envy to land a heavy blow against the Kitsune. She'd set up a Shikigami to counterattack, the paper being torn and unleashing an Amikiri on her, a small, shrimp-like spirit with sharp claws and beak that tried to sever three of her fingers. Upon such contact, however, the Shrimp immediately began to break down, a small substance attaching onto the shell, surrounding the yokai. After such a swarm, the white liquid would invade and break down the spirit, dissolving it, disintegrating it away into its meat and eyes. "Well, what a waste of white blood cells. Had I hit you a bit closer, your body would have melted much the same. Would've also granted me my Final Gambit too. Lucky you for dodging a deadly antidote." She'd sneer as she'd slip her hand back and aimed to backhand the human tar, letting such secretions coat his face.

Envy, however, pushed on.

Even as the face dissolved away, it kept its grip secure as it strangled away the Vampiress, letting it wrap around her body and cut off her breath. Even as she choked, however, Bathory did not falter. She stared down at the living tar as the white fluid was quick on shooting at his arms, prompting Envy to react and create holes to avoid its strikes. She smiled when she saw her advantage as she allowed her son to swoop in, tossing in few stray pieces of straw to infest and control his arm, letting them waft and sew each other as a result. The grip began to loosen as she made a massive slash against the humanoid sludge, letting the wound fester as she backs off, breathing once again. Tsukiya would try to take advantage of her taking such oxygen by tossing some more Shikigami, shortening the ones she had so that she can breathe it in accidentally and let it be damaged by her saliva, hoping to spawn a Yokai from the inside out to kill her. At the same time, Envy would stab into the earth and let his tar solidify into a spike, aiming to travel it across the ground and stab into her leg, limiting her movement as he'd try to close in and get the chance to grapple her again.

Watching the two take their shot at a potential kill for the 5th rank, her son intervened once more, taking his drastic push once more.

He'd scatter the Straw in a cloud to push them away, then would take aim and let the straw combine to become small needles, spreading out like a jellyfish as it traversed the area, a living mass puppeteered by the Farmer. His resolve was unmatched as he'd let his mother get a chance to live, quickly grabbing Mawkin and lunging the both upwards to avoid the summoning of the Yokai, the Daidara-Botchi. "They're getting smarter..." Bathory commented as the two landed on a few branches, letting the group watch as the Yokai started to rampage, coupled with Rubix's pulses getting bigger and bigger. "It's too late. We cannot kill them anymore. The children are most likely going to escape and strike us when we're low on our reserves." She watched on as she'd be impressed by not just the boys preparations, but the descendants of the Kings' tenacity, somehow managing to make the most of their arsenal to its upmost potential. The two would nod at one another as the Shadow Mages quickly departed, finally letting the descendants breathe.

"Waow Waow... that took WAY too much than I thought..." Tsukiya commented, slouching herself against a tree and taking deep breaths.

"Easy for you to say, I barely had a chance to fight properly..." Envy replied, annoyed that he had to rely on the very thing trying to kill him to act as assistance. As the two would try to catch themselves a break, however...

KA-BOOM!!!!

The cube finally released them, a massive blast of wind and pressure to show that they're training was done. Smoke was visible in the area as some of the trees caught wind of the atmospheres, igniting under it. "Er... Why are the trees burning?"

"Good question. Think this is a side effect for all the power they were containing-"

"HARVAAAAAAAARD!!!!" Solomon's outcry as the boys realized that, by using the hot atmosphere as a barrier, it involuntarily caused a massive arson being set alight, would Signal for Envy to change his mind.

"Nevermind. Kid is probably just as dumb as we are..." Envy can't help but sigh as he'd try to keep his distance, letting Tsukiya use Daidara-Botchi put out the flames with its immense frame. Had she stayed a little bit longer, the two descendants would've been out of energy and died without knowing what came up. He was thankful the battle ended when it did.
