Chapter 404 - Chapter 404: Shooting Star

As the beast pushed itself back to recuperate, Bathory kept her assault onwards. Stolas, despite his impaired eyesight, would recognize the threat caused by the Vampiress. Casting Aquarius, the monstrous Goetia raised its many hands and flooded the area in such stars, being careful not to damage the trees within it. Bathory would scoff as she'd reach for the top of said trees, looking down and seeing the trap it laid out. "It's learning. It knows that the magic my son possessed is enough to kill it. Furthermore, it has already prepared an answer for both of my styles. Blood Magic would be useless as it burns away before even reaching him. Wine Magic would combust and only cause harm to me in its explosion. I have no easy answers here..." She'd mumble to herself, as she would see the wave of stars try to crash into her, moving as swift as the wind in her evasions against each celestial object. She'd sharpen her nails as she'd tuck away her umbrella, understanding the conditions that the monstrous Ars Goetia has placed.

There is no other option before them. Their resolve shall be their blade.

"MOM!? WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" Mawkin cried, as he'd see Bathory charge headfirst towards the massive owl. Her movements rivaled Stolas, as her son watched the two begin such a scuffle. The beast would lunge two Hands of God nebulas to smite her, too massive to dodge perfectly. Despite the impact and the massive damage across her body, she still pushed on. Stolas would try to retaliate by firing shots at her sides through Aquarius, the small dots being as precise as possible to hit her vitals. Even when they connected, striking at her liver, lungs, and stomach, she somehow still prevailed. At a desperation, it would blast down a massive beam of light, a star that melts down the very area and incinerates the woman, even going so far as to remove the moisture so that the sun would be enough to finish her off. Despite this attack, and despite its aftermath, her skin now burning, boils appearing, her face peeling like rubber...

She pushed on.

SHIKK!!!

A direct hit, the one that she needed to deal her finishing blow. A Stab straight into the Goetia's face, her clawed hands cleaved off in order to escape easier, her blood minimized by her magic, sealing the arteries and veins as she pushed back. Even in such a mangled state, she smiled, as she has the beast properly by the reigns. "Perfect. I believe that shall be your execution." She'd declare, stunting the Goetia. Confused, it would try to push on, setting up a massive star and aiming to slam it at her body, its heat and radiance enough to push such wrinkles and damage to her pale skin. As it tried to lower it down and crush her, it would stop. Its eyes widened as it can see its limbs unable to move any further. No matter how much force, no matter if he takes it at a different angle, it can't reach her.

Moreover, it began to swell. It began to ache. It began to be a living hell.

"Blood Magic: Sickle Cell. An attack that requires my very blood to be inserted in one's body. A transfusion takes place at that point, one in which drains the blood cells in your veins..." As she explained such a Final Gambit, more of its effects kicked in. Stolas' vision began to slur, its mind drifting as it heats up. It tries to breathe as much as possible, yet no oxygen would come out. Its blood started to shift to a yellow hue, as well as its eyes becoming more blank, the color being sapped away. Eventually its skin and feathers took a similar color, its veins in the arms now visible and inflamed. It couldn't believe how it needed a mere stab into its body to trigger such an effect, as its eyes dart around to desperately search for an answer on how, even with such near-sightedness. Bathory was kind enough to present said answer, her fingers and palm bleeding, thanks to the previous attacks she's done up to this point. "...Oh! It seems I don't need to break down my magic, after all! You seem to have already begun feeling its effects. In that case, I shall leave you with this: It's a Permanent treatment. Once my Gambit has taken root, even if you were to regenerate such new blood, it would be nothing more than the sickles that float around by the time it reaches the heart and lungs. You could say its a Virus type of technique. Oh well..." Her words were just as confident as her tone as she'd watch the beast roar and set up a star on its mouth, adapting to its new ailment.

SHIKK!!!

A pierce, a javelin she fired into the star, letting it scatter into the air as it disintegrates. It tried to back itself away, but the restriction once again held it down. It was forced to watch the dust seep into its eyes and mouth, closing the former to prevent being blinded. In truth, it was quick in forcing its way through the eyelids and the muscles within its tongue, trailing its way up into the brain of the beast. It grew terrified as its body became powerless, tears streaming down as it prepares its demise. "Ah? You're crying? Well this is a first... I've heard that monsters summoned by their caster can sometimes carry independent thoughts. I never thought I'd see such a beast to carry emotions as well. What a lovely discovery, I'll remember this if my beloved son wishes to do such a similar act." She'd state, admiring such care, before snapping her fingers.

SHIKK!!! SHIKK!!! SHIKK!!!

The beast's head was skewered alive, brain matter visible in the spikes. The beast finally is given a chance to lower its body down and rest in piece, its body disintegrating into the energy it once made up. Mawkin was quick on taking this energy and storing it in his straw dolls, hoping for a later use. Meanwhile, Bathory merely looked towards the location of the two children of the Kings, ready to attack once more.
