Chapter 6: Unveiling the Truth

Elon managed to hide his shocked expression, determined not to reveal the knowledge of his origin from another universe.

He listened attentively as Nyssa explained his current situation, trying to appear as if all of this was new to him.

"You are in a place known to only a few," Nyssa began, her voice carrying an air of mystery. "And the reason you are here is tied to your father."

"My father?" Elon echoed, feigning surprise.

Nyssa nodded, her expression serious. "Yes, your father was once a member of the League of Assassins," she revealed.

"He was known as Primestrike, one of our most skilled assassins. He possessed a unique ability that made him an unparalleled marksman, never missing a shot and never failing a mission."

Elon absorbed Nyssa's words, making sure not to reveal any hint of recognition. "Primestrike, my father?" he inquired, playing his part convincingly.

"That's correct," Nyssa confirmed. "He was highly respected within the League, but he chose to leave, betraying us. We later found out that he married and had a son and my father decided to let go as we discovered that he was plagued with illness."

"Unfortunately, your father has passed away years ago. Our information sources tells us that he passed away from cancer before your mother, who also succumbed to the illness later on."

Elon felt a pang of sorrow being reminded of 'his' late parents, but he knew he had to maintain his facade.

Even though he wasn't the real Elon, he had relived this life in his dream last night and it felt like he wasn't just a young man in another's body.

The truth of his father's passing in this world only strengthened his resolve to keep his own identity a secret.

"Now, the League is in need of someone with similar abilities, and we believe you possess the same unique talent," Nyssa continued, her eyes searching his face.

Elon's mind churned with conflicting emotions.

He understood the gravity of the situation and the danger he might be facing, but he knew that he didn't have much choice.

"Primestrike's enemies are searching for you," Nyssa continued, her voice low and urgent. "The League of Assassins can offer you protection, a safe haven from those who seek to harm you."

Elon carefully considered the offer, pretending to weigh the options. "I don't know if I can trust you," he admitted, maintaining his facade.

In response, Nyssa produced an old and weathered photograph, handing it to Elon. He looked at the image and feigned surprise.

The sight of his father, Primestrike, standing beside Ra's al Ghul was surreal, but he kept his composure.

"Do you believe me now?" Nyssa asked softly.

Elon nodded, hiding his inner turmoil. "Yes, I believe you," he replied, his voice steady.

Nyssa's smile was reassuring, but Elon had made up his mind. He would cooperate with the League for his own safety, but he would never reveal his true identity as an outsider from another universe.

"Your father's legacy lives on, and Ra's al Ghul, my father, wishes to meet you personally," Nyssa informed him. "I request that you cooperate for your own well-being."

Elon took a deep breath, concealing his true thoughts. "Okay," he said finally, his voice resolute. "I don't have a choice anyway."

Nyssa's smile grew, and she nodded in understanding. "You are right," she acknowledged.

"But trust me, this is better than falling into the hands of your father's enemies."

As the gravity of his decision settled upon him, Elon knew that he would be venturing into the enigmatic and perilous world of the League of Assassins.

But even so he had determined to keep his secret of his past universe concealed, locked away forever, as he navigated the challenges ahead.
