Chapter 16 - Our first dungeon ever! 1

Aaaahhh!!

We have phones here!!

I love you Technossia!

"Master, I admire your excitement but you are jumping so high that everyone is looking at you." Frienna is standing beside me as I'm jumping a few feet above the ground.

Realizing my reckless action, I deftly land beside her.

"Oh, sorry sorry." I smile bashfully, scratching the back of my head with a flushed cheek.

"Anyway, look! Tadaaa!!" I excitedly show her the rectangular device in my hand.

Lil Frey looks at me with her default expression. "What does it do, Master?"

I turn it on and swipe through it in front of her as we're sitting on a bench in the market place.

"With this, we can easily contact anyone in this land." I assure her.

"Like with the investigators?" She asks me, eyes blinking once.

"Exactly!" I smile at her words.

The girl in white looks at me with a tilted head slightly to the left. "But won't it be easier to contact them telepathically, Master?"

"That's true, but you do remember G'ar Land being the continent of most non-magical right?" I ask her while playing through my newly bought phone.

"Right. My apologies, Master." The girl in white bows her head slightly at me.

It's nothing much, really. I did expect her to forget since we showed a considerable amount of magic to Pip.

Speaking of Pip, I should contact him first before I forget. Tomorrow will be another busy day, since we need to grind our ass off in this foreign land. Economy has been brutal to us, my dear friends.

But what is life without money? What is purpose without luxury?

Naahh I'm just messing with y'all!

But on a serious note, really, we really need the money.. No joke.

I dial Pip's number from my palm into the red colored rectangular device.

#Kevin: Hi, Pip! This is Kevin. I've bought the phone that you told me just now!

#Kevin: Truly a lifesaver, Pip Pouchkin! Anyway, see ya tomorrow, man!

I don't expect him to reply instantly, so I'm going to just leave it at that.

"Let's head back to our hotel, shall we?" I look at lil Frey beside me, staring at me with her own version of pleased look.

"Yes, Master."

——— ——— ———

Pip.

That's the name my family used to call me before they all passed away.

Phyllipus.

The name my mother used to call me when she was scolding me for forgetting to pack essential things in our backpacks.

Deadweight.

Is the name I'm being called for some time now by my party members.

"Get me some drinks!" Shout a tall and big looking guy, laying on the table drunkenly in the bar.

I hurriedly walk to the counter and get some booze for our Monk; Rofy Neverent.

As I'm passing a mug of booze to the drunk man, someone grab my wrist tightly.

"Ack-" I instinctively let out a soft moan.

I look up to the man in question. His dark blue eyes are staring at me with disgust and arrogance. "Why bother giving him another one, when he's this drunk? Use your brain for once, deadweight, and get him some water." He let out a small groan after finishing his sentence.

"R-right... Sorry." I take a small run to the counter again.

"Oi, Rofy. Get your heavy ass off this table or you're gonna make our party look bad." The man kicks Rofy's huge leg.

The latter gets up and groan. "Whatever ya say, Argo. You're the boss..."

Argo Swaltzky scoffs at Rofy's surrender.

I hurriedly get back to the Monk and pass the water to him. "Here you go, Rofy."

"What took ya so long!?" He lifts his hand to scare me before snatching the mug from my hand, which made me flinch.

"Aww, look at that little mouse, flinching hard from a muscle-headed idiot. How ironic~" Says a tall woman not far from our table.

Rofy groans at her. "Shut your trap, Helena!"

She laughs at the Monk's reaction.

Helena Manterro.

The marksman of the party—a Sniper Warrior.

"Can you guys be quiet for a moment? It really stings my head to listen to you all dumb bastards." Says another drunken man, laying on the joined chairs behind Argo.

"W-would you like some water too, Hector?" I ask our Cleric from beside Rofy.

He just lets out a small nod without looking at me, but I'm not going to make a big deal out of it. It's not like I can anyway.

"You shouldn't be drinking more than you should, Hector." Says Argo, sitting down on a metallic chair nearby.

"Huh? This is the least I could do, considering how I just busted my ass saving your stupid bastards on the 25th floor-" Complains the brown haired man, while taking the water from my hand without paying me no mind.

The Monk and Sniper Warrior are laughing their asses off at his statement.

"You just used a level 1 Healing Kit on us, even though this muscle-headed idiot broke his arms twice." Helena says with a huge smirk and belittle look on her face.

"Yeah, and that's more than enough for idiots like you. Like hell I'm wasting a good amount of Level 4 Healing Kit on your asses. Who in their right mind would rush into a group of mechanimals??" Hector chug the water down with a single gulp.

Rofy laughs out loud at him. "Maybe next time I should break your hand twice, and see how you will survive with only level 1 Healing Kit." His eyes looks scary, but Hector doesn't budge.

"Enough. Hector has a point. Besides he needs to save some for someone weak enough to get killed by mechabugs." Argo's blue eyes are staring at me with annoyance.

I lower down my head from their stares.

Hector doesn't say anything, only Rofy and Helena let out a good laugh.

I'm so shameless...

I have to constantly rely on these people every time we do our missions.

Argo sigh as he stand up from the chair. "Let's go to A.V. We can clear a few floors and call it a day."

All of us nods in response.

We've arrived at the dungeon entrance as the registrar helps with our dungeon pass.

"Evening, Mr. Swaltzky. For today's dungeon clearing you will be able to proceed until the 29th floor." He sends a barcode each directly to our phones.

"Got it. Thanks, Galvin." Argo bow slightly at the registrar and walk towards us.

"Let's move." Argo orders us Grade B party.

We are entering the A.V and proceed to the 26th floor using the elevator provided.

Argo scan the barcode from the entrance into floor 26, and it opens the heavy metallic gate.

All of us enters the floor cautiously with Argo and Rofy at the front as Paladin and Monk respectively.

"Would you look at that. A beautiful bracelet. Finders keepers~" Says Helena with a soft chuckle.

"Pfft- Who in the world brings jewelry into a dungeon?" Rofy states his opinions.

Helena scoffs at the man's statement. "Please, every women even with a quaint sense of fashion will choose to stay presentable anywhere she goes."

"Not when you steal it from someone else." Hector secretly whispers his disapproval at me.

I too secretly let out a soft chuckle at his words.

"Silence." Instruct Argo.

With that, all of us stand on guard. Eyes darting every corner of the dungeon floor.

The bright lights on the ceiling starts to flicker uncontrollably.

"It's coming!" Argo says as he gets into his fighting stance.

In front of us, multiple flying discs are flying towards us at high speed.

"Rofy!" Shout the boss loud and clear.

"On it!" Rofy begin punching and kicking the flying discs at the front.

Meanwhile Helena is shooting her long dark red Remington 700 from behind.

As amazing as their teamwork is, the flying discs number is still not decreasing.

"Deadweight, give me a shield!" Argo asks me for a new shield. From the looks of it, his is too heavy to fight a fast moving flying object.

Without any hesitations, I rummage through my huge backpack and pull out a wooden round shield, throwing it at him.

The Paladin catches it with style and proceed with the fighting.

"Aah, I'm out. Hey, Baggage. Give me ammo." Helena asks without looking at my direction.

But I'm fine with that as long as I can prove to them that I'm worthy of being in this party.

I must show them that I belong here.

I rummage my backpack and hand over the ammo to her.

We finish the fight in the next few minutes of shooting and destroying the flying discs.

"Fuhh, that was a lot." Helena let out a soft yet seductive relieving sigh.

"If we keep this up we can proceed to the next floor in no time." Says Argo with confidence.

We continue our walk while collecting items dropped from the discs, storing it in my backpack and even checking the rooms for any chests.

"Are you alright?" Hector asks me out of the sudden.

While packing my backpack, I look at him with a surprised look. "What? Oh, I-I'm all good."

After he hears my assurance, the Cleric lets out a soft relieving chuckle with a small smile. "That's good to hear."

"Oi, let's move on!" Shout Rofy who's way ahead of us with Helena and Argo.

We spend quite some time clearing these floors until the last one allowed for today, which is floor 29.

"Is this it? Disappointing!" The huge Monk is kicking the mechanimal's dismembered parts out of frustration.

"Can we just collect the items and leave~? I'm exhausted now, and I don't wanna miss my beauty sleep." The woman in long silky dark hair says while fidgeting her newly 'borrowed' bracelet.

"Or we can proceed to the 30th floor." Argo says without looking back at us.

Rofy look at him with a confused look. "Huh? What do you mean? We don't even have the barcode for it."

The long blue-haired man scoffs in annoyance. "Then we bust our way in."

"Are you crazy? We don't know how dangerous the next floor is gonna be!" Hector voice out his disapproval.

With that, the Paladin turns around with an annoyed look on his face. "Don't be a pussy. We're just gonna look around and head back. Besides, this floor is not even that tough to begin with. We can manage."

The four of us stand in silence for a while, comprehending what Argo just said.

"I say we go in." Rofy says with a large smile.

"Yea yea, let's get this over with~" The Sniper also approves with this absurd request.

"For fuck sake..." Hector lets out a groan.

Argo gives Hector a side eye as he turns around with a smug expression and order Rofy to smash the approval scanner.

With a hard hit, the scanner burst as the entrance opens, revealing a completely dark area.

"Is it supposed to be like this?" Helena asks with a gulp, but Argo ignore her as he take a step through the gate.

"Baggage, light." Helena says with a hint of fear.

I nod and start to rummage my backpack.

I take out a jar of Firebots; a small flying insect with a bulb attached to its body.

The Firebots fly away through the area, enlighten it just enough for us to navigate our path ahead.

We walk through multiple sections of the floor but so far only small mechabugs are found.

They are also no sign of trials, or even obstacles.

Almost as if the floor itself is 'turned off'.

Dormant with the power switch is off.

*Kriik*

Suddenly, a scittering sound is heard from around us.

"Eek, what was that?!" Helena jumps into the middle of our group position.

"Focus, Helena! ACK-" Shout Argo, in pain.

A huge pincher just smack Argo straight in the ribs, sending him flying to the side at incredible speed.

"What was that!? Argo!!" Shout Rofy in distress.

The Monk and Cleric then run towards the fallen Paladin at the side, leaving me and the scared Sniper alone.

"Throw something at it, you stupid Baggage!" Shout Helena at me, while hitting my back with her red riffle.

"A-alright!" I start rummaging my backpack without thinking and throw every ceramic pots I have at the huge Crabot.

Its shell is as hard as steel, and one pincher changes into a large razor blade.

The mechanimal is swinging its razor blade at me without stopping.

In panic, I immediately sling my backpack behind me and attempt to run for my life.

The Crabot follows with even louder scittering sound.

Helena is shooting at the Crabot from a good distance.

Wait-

Is she using me as bait??

I try to run with my huge backpack but no luck.

"Don't run this way, bastard!" Shout Helena while aiming from her Remington 700.

"Help!!" I shout as loud as I can.

Then, the Crabot change its direction toward something else.

It's Rofy and Argo.

The latter is now wrapped in level 5 Healing Kit from Hector.

Before I could say anything, Hector pulls me aside to hide behind one of the thick pillars.

I take a quick peek at the battle, and everyone is doing their best to fight the indestructible Crabot.

"Take this!" Shout one of the men.

"To the left, you idiotic Monk!" Alert the Sniper Warrior from afar.

But to their disadvantage, the Crabot conjure a huge bazooka to its left pincher and blast at both of the fighters.

"AAAAHH-!!" Rofy screams in pain with one of his legs gets blown off by one of the missiles.

Blood's splattering everywhere with nonstop streaming from the Monk's severed leg.

"Stay here." Hector runs to the scene to help the injured party member.

The trusted Cleric immediately pulls the Monk to the back and use a level 9 Healing Kit on his severed leg.

On the other hand, the Paladin of the group decides to fend the Crabot off by himself with the help of a sniper.

"Doom-Shot!" Helena Manterro uses her Rifle Technique to release three consecutive shots of mana-charged bullets to the mechanimal.

The mana-charged bullets hits the back of the Crabot at high speed, but it doesn't do any damage to it.

"Fight it like you mean it, idiot!" Argo yells at the Sniper Warrior while doing his best to deflect the Crabot's deadly missiles.

However, Helena doesn't react to the Paladin's words and just stare blankly at the battle floor in disbelief.

"Argo! Let's do that!" Shout Rofy with healed leg, running towards them.

The leader of the party nod in response and they begin their synchronize attacks.

After some desperate moves, both Argo and Rofy deal their heaviest blow on the Crabot's shell at the same time.

"Mountain Slash!"

"Fist of Steel!"

""HAIYAHH!!""

They succeed in taking out the Crabot..?

"Let's move before it gets up-" Before Argo could finish his sentence, the Crabot reboot itself and starts moving with even faster movement.

"RUN!" Shout Argo in distress.

We all run from the large area, heading towards the exit.

Unfortunately, luck isn't on my side today.

I trip my legs and scatter my stuff out of my backpack.

"Ack-"

"Pip!" Hector yells out my name as he's running toward me.

"This deadweight! Just leave him!" Argo shouts from ahead of us.

"Leave your backpack. Let's go!" Hector pulls my arm up from the floor.

"N-no I can't! It's my h-heirloom..." I reason with him.

Hector take a glance behind me and click his tongue in desperation. "Tch, hurry."

We both are putting the items back into my backpack as fast as we could.

*Kriik*

"Hurry up, assholes! It's getting closer!!" Shout Argo from the exit.

Hector pulls my arm away. "Leave the rest! Let's go!"

I run with him and we escapes in the nick of time.

The both of us let out a relieving sigh together.

Suddenly, Argo grabs me by the collar. "What the fuck was that!?"

"I-I.." I couldn't speak.

"You could've killed all of us, you fucking deadweight!" Shout Argo in my face.

"I know I-" I still couldn't form my words.

"That's enough, Argo." Says Hector, pulling the Paladin's hands away from my collar.

"You too, bastard! Why the fuck did you go back to help this deadweight?! I told you to leave him, didn't I?! You're lucky we managed to escape just in time, you son of a bitch!" Argo is fuming with anger.

My eyes starts to get teary, but I'm holding it in.

I have to.

"That's enough, Argo. Let's just go back to the guild and call it a day." Helena taps Argo by the shoulder with a sigh.

I try to give her a relieving smile, but she respond with an annoyed look.

"You better shut you mouth about this." Helena says as she walks away from me.

We leave the A.V and head straight to the Ravirand Guild in silence.

Upon the counter, I unload all of the items we have gathered from the expedition and receive our credits for today.

Except for me.

"Excuse me, it seems that you've made a mistake. I didn't receive my share for the day." I try to confirm with her with a nervous chuckle.

But before the registrar can answer, Argo calls me to the back.

I walk towards them.

"Argo, I didn't get my share for today. I think they miscalculated-"

"We don't need you anymore." Argo says without hesitation. His blue eyes are looking at me with disgust.

I'm shocked. I don't know what's happening...

Are they really kicking me out? This can't be happening.

"A-Argo, is this about what happened just now? If it is then I'm sorry and it won't happen again! I promise! I- I will pretend that it never happened..." I try to reason with him.

He lifts his hand to halt me of my words. "I've had enough of you. We have had enough of you."

What?

"Just accept it, dog. You're wasting our time. I wanna go rest now~" Helena yawn in mockery.

I turn to look at Rofy, who's looking down on me with his smug smirk.

"You're so useless to the point I'm lost of words." He laughs out loud.

I then turn to my last hope—Hector, who's staring deep at the floor.

Before I could say anything, Argo lashes out at me. "Ahhh!! I don't give a flying damn about you now. Leave us and never come again!"

The rest of the members follows Argo out of the door without looking back at me.

Is this what I am?

Is this my only worth?

What am I going to do next?

But it seems like my luck hasn't completely betrayed me yet.

Two unique looking adventurers that will soon change my life are standing in front of me with a helping hand.

One with a messy red hair and the other is a small young pale girl in white dress.

I guess I should give it a shot.

——— ——— ———

*Ding*

Hm?

Who's texting me this early morning..?

#Kevin: Hi, Pip! This is Kevin. I just bought the phone that you told me just now!

#Kevin: Truly a lifesaver, Pip Pouchkin! Anyway, see ya tomorrow, man!

#Pip Pouchkin: Hello, Mister Kevin. That's a wonderful news! Let's meet up today at the usual café near the Ravirand Guild. See you!

I guess there's no sleeping in today.

"Frienna, we need to get ready. We're meeting up with Pip in an hour." I get off the bed and head to the bathroom.

Lil Frey transform herself into a human from her original form on her bed. "Yes, Master."

I take my sweet time in the shower before walking out of the bathroom, seeing Frienna combing her dark obsidian hair at the windowsill.

"Taking in the morning, I see." I let out a soft chuckle at her while getting myself dressed.

Without looking at me, she admits while still combing her ebony hair. "This feels somewhat... peaceful, in a way."

"Really? That's good for you." I assure her while prepping my red hair, the usual style; messy.

She's trying to understand her own emotions right now, and that is a big achievement, ya know! I'm so proud of her.

"How about this? After all of this, let's have a trip to the Floating Terrain. All four of us—you, me, Dumb-Dumb, and Nito. I heard they have a beautiful waterfall somewhere on that land." I walk over to the door.

The girl in white turns around after closing the window, looking at me with her own version of gleamy eyes. "As you wish, Master."

I smile at her words as I open the door. "Now, shall we go to meet Pip?"

She hop off the windowsill and walk toward me. "Yes, Master."

The both of us are walking across the busy street of Ravirand district and head to the café near its guild.

"Good morning, Mister Kevin and Lil Frienna. How was your sleep?" Says the green haired man with a huge worn backpack at the side.

"Morning, Pip. It was great honestly." I say with a smile while sitting across him.

"Have you ordered a cake yet?" Lil Frey asks with a stoic expression next to me.

Pip let out a genuine laugh at her. "Sorry sorry. But I knew you would like some sweets so I've ordered some just for you, Lil Frienna."

With that, a waiter come and place a plate of puffberry cake on the table in front of Frienna.

"You have my gratitude, Pip." She says with her default expression as she dives into the berry-filled blue and pink coloured cake.

I look at her with a smile and shift my gaze to Pip.

"So, what should we do today?" I ask while sipping my tea that Pip had ordered before we arrived just now.

"Oh right. What do you think about dungeons, Mister Kevin?" He asks.

"Dungeons? Well, to be completely frank with you. It's scary, but I really wanna give it a try." I lean back on the chair with a gentle smile.

Honestly, I've never been to a dungeon before. Not even once.

I mean, I was a blacksmith for over five years before my magical powers was stripped away from me. So, I wasn't required to physically be in a dangerous situation.

But it's different now.

I have a responsibility. Big enough to affect the fate of this world.

By defeating The Hero will not be an easy task. In fact, it will have a greater consequence.

And who knows what will happen if I truly defeat The Hero of this world.

Well, that consequence is for the future me to take care of it. Present me just need to focus on ensuring the plan works for future me to even defeat The Hero.

"It is scary indeed, but it's nothing for you to be afraid of, Mister Kevin. I mean from our quest yesterday, both you and Lil Frienna really showed a formidable amount of power to me. So I think we are able to clear at least a little over floor 20." Pip says confidently while scrolling through his gold-casing phone.

"You think so?" I ask him.

"That young man is right!!" All of a sudden, a huge built man just appear right next to our table, causing me and Pip to flinch hard.

"Old man Bastian, what're you doing here?" I ask him while correcting my posture on my chair.

"HAHAHAHA! I heard you youngsters were taking about going to the dungeon, so I'm here to guide all of you." Says the bearded huge man.

"Aren't you busy, old man?" Frienna asks without hesitation to the Sword Warrior.

Old man Bastian shifts his gaze to lil Frey.

"Aah, young Frienna! Don't worry about me! Youngsters like you are my business, you know. HAHAHA!" The huge man let out a big laugh at his words.

"Weirdo." Says Frienna to herself but I can still hear it.

"Register yourself to the A.V dungeon at the counter and meet me there, alright?" Old man Bastian says as he chugs a cup of tea from our table.

Wait, that's mine!!

"Haa, refreshing~!"

We register ourselves at the counter with Miss Anna as our registrar.

"Good morning, everyone. How can I assist you today?" Asks Miss Anna with a smile.

"We would like to do a dungeon clearing at A.V, please." Pip informs the green uniformed lady with a smile.

But to our surprise, she stutters for a while. "A.V? I- How do I say this? Uhm."

"Hm? Is something wrong, Miss Anna?" I worriedly ask her.

"Ehem. Nothing in particular. I shall register your party now." She conjure up a smile and proceed to type into the computer.

I turn my head to look at Frienna and as expected, judging from her expression, she's thinking the same thing as me.

Something's not right.

"There. All done. I have emailed the document needed to the A.V registration centre, so they will help you with it. Have a safe one, everyone." Miss Anna sends us off with a gentle smile, before we walk out of the Ravirand Guild.

"{Something is definitely not right, Master.}" The little girl says telepathically.

I look at her with the tightened grip of our clasped hands.

"{I have a bad feeling about this...}" I reply to her telepathically.

Frienna shifts her gaze toward the green-haired young man who's walking ahead of us. "{Like I said yesterday, Master. He doesn't seem suspicious at all.}"

I nod at her. "{You're right, but we should keep a close eye on him for now.}"

"{As you wish, Master.}" The little girl nod in response.

We continue the walk in silence when Pip decides to break it suddenly.

"Mister Kevin." He turns around.

"Hm?" I stop on my track together with lil Frey.

"Just so you know that the A.V is one of the high ranking dungeons in Ravirand district, so there will be quite a lot of adventurers registering for it." Pip says with a small nervous smile.

"Ah, I get it. I need to hide the fact that I can use Arts to the people in this land." I massage my left shoulder gently.

Pip nod in response as he walks to the registering centre. "And we're here."

Behind the counter, there's a man with brown hair in an orange uniform, greeting us with a soft smile. "Hello there. You must be the Grade C party that'll be clearing the dungeon for today, right?"

"Yes, that's right." Pip says.

The man registrar, named Galvin, is typing something on his computer.

"There. All set. Now, your party is able to access up until floor 20. Have a safe one." He sends us off with a smile.

"Thank you so much." Pip bow slightly toward him.

So basically he just sent a barcode to our phones, well, me and Pip's, to scan for entering each permitted floors.

"Shall we go in?" Pip asks, looking at both me and Frienna.

Wait. Aren't we supposed to meet Old man Bastian here?

Where the hell is that muscled-old man at??

Agh, never mind. I bet he's already inside, preparing a jump scare for us.

With that, I nod at his question as we're heading to the entrance of A.V.

A.V is a huge tower that its top remains unseen over the clouds.

We scan the barcode and proceed to enter the ground floor.

In the elevator, Pip says something with a confused look. "Hm, that's weird."

"What's weird?" I ask him.

The green-haired boy shifts his gaze to me from the elevator floor. "The A.V should be the most famous dungeon in this district, but I still don't see other parties except for us."

I turn to look at Frienna then tries to shrug it off. "It's probably nothing, man. Maybe today is a holiday."

The elevator door opens at the first floor, but failed to get our attention.

"It can't be, Mister Kevin. Even so, there are other enthusiastic parties out there that will go for dungeon clearing on holidays. However, today is definitely not a holiday." Pip says, finally noticing the elevator door has opened.

We step out of the elevator into the first floor entrance barricade.

I said barricade instead of door or gate because the structure literally screams like a fortress.

How can a dungeon floor be this big?? It's humongous, not gon' lie.

But Pip is right. Me and Frienna have a bad feeling about this too.

However, we can't do anything except clearing this dungeon like Old man Bastian has said.

"Haa, let's just clear this dungeon and get our bounty- Aaahh-!!"

Without any signal, Old man Bastian poke me at my waist.

"You're right on time, youngsters! As expected. Well done!" He congratulates us with thumbs up.

I glare at him for a while before I regain my composure.

"You really are something, old man." I let out a gentle sigh.

"Touch him again and see what happens to your thumbs." Frienna glares at Old man Bastian with her default expression, causing the latter to drop his thumbs up pose with a chuckle.

"Protective as always, am I right, young Frienna?" The Sword Warrior smiles at the girl in white with teeth showing.

But despite his effort, this cute pale girl just gives him a side eye while fixing her ebony scarf around her shoulder.

"So what do we do now, old man?" I ask him with a slightly slouched shoulder.

He looks at me with a bright smile. "Just clear the floors."

Haaa??

That's all??

"Uhm, so why do we need your acquaintance for this basic of a job?" I ask him politely with a smile and a bulge on my temples.

"You'll know soon enough~! BUAHAHAHA!" He laughs out loud.

That's it.

I swing a high kick toward him at high speed, only a second to late from his face.

Old man Bastian vanishes from our vicinity.

"That old man sure is fast, big brother." Says Frienna while fixing her silky dark hair from the wind caused by that huge old man just now.

*Ding*

I check the notification from my phone and there it is. The old man's number.

How did he get my number, though?

#Bastian Krag: See you youngsters at the 15th floor, alright~!

I let out a loud dragging sigh. "Let's clear this floor, shall we?"

Pip and Frienna nod at my question, then we proceed to the entrance.

This dungeon is quite futuristic in my opinion. They have all the interior that I can remember and even the advanced ones.

The lights on the ceiling shines brightly throughout the hall way.

We enter room after room, trap after trap, but nothing challenging.

Calling me cocky? Actually no.

It's just that whatever creature or so called mechanimals barge into us, our dear little sister right here will just slice them all to fillets.

No extra work needed.

Me and Pip? Well, we just collect the items dropped by the mechanimals from Frienna's kills.

This is honestly embarrassing.

Like from other's perspective, us two men being carried by a pale-looking little girl.

It is not a good image, ya know!

"Well done, Lil Frienna. You really killed it!" Pip congratulates her while storing the items into his backpack.

At least this boy doesn't mind it.

"Warning. The boss of this floor is respawning in 50 seconds." A voice is heard from around us as if it comes from the floor itself. It sounds so much like the system.

"And that's our cue." Pip stands up from the ground and slings his huge backpack over both of his shoulders.

"Cue for what?" Frienna asks while turning her head slightly toward the approaching Baggage.

"To advance to the next floor, we need to defeat the boss in the current floor first." Pip points at the huge beautiful entrance far ahead across us.

"Is that where I think it will lead us?" I ask with awe.

Pip nod with a smile. "Mhm."

"Then, what are we waiting for? Let's gooo!!" I run to the entrance while holding hands with lil Frey.

"Haha! Wait for me, you guys!" Pip laughs unintentionally as he begins running with his heavy backpack behind his back.

We've reached the entrance just in time for the boss to respawn.

"Warning. Time's up. The boss of this floor has respawned." Says the system again.

The door opens with immense metallic working principle all around it, and that kinda makes me uncomfortable in a way.

Not to be a drag, but how can a beautiful looking entrance end up with a disgusting almost horrifying working mechanism.

Like what are the odds? Hmm??

It kinda reminds me of a four letter word that starts with "A" and ends with "S".

Not trying to think about it too much but I can't help it!

You know what just enter the room please...

We take a few steps into the room.

"It's dark in here." Is it just me or this whole room is pitch black?

It's fine. I think I'll just wait for my rods to take over.

"Give it time, Mister Kevin. It should be alright by now." I can only hear Pip's voice.

As soon as the entrance behind us closes, the light switch turns on, illuminating what's in front of us.

It's a metallic tortoise look-alike.

"What is that?" I ask.

"It's a Bordo. They have high defense but low attack power so it can be a bit hard for some people to land a good hit, but I doubt you both can't do anything about it-" A slash is made before Pip can finish his sentence.

That slash caused a wide range of explosion in front of us.

"Frienna, that was too quick." I cough up the smoke from her attack.

Now I can't see anything. Did that attack manage to take down the Bordo?

*Nom*

"Huh?" What is happening?

AaAhh-

WooOoohhh-

I think I'm about to puke from being swung around in the mouth of a huge tortoise.

"He~eelp... Hrk... nnh-" I'm really about to vomit right now...

"Hang on, big brother." Frienna takes a sharp turn of her head toward me.

"Omaris." A spatial slash hits the neck of the Bordo fast enough to split it in half.

The head of the robot tortoise falls to the ground with a loud thud as I slip away from its mouth.

"Ngh... That was h-hell... Hrk-" That was nauseating as heck.

"Are you alright, big brother?" Asks Frienna while she's trying to lift me by the arm.

I shake my head in disapproval, but Pip let out a muffled laugh from behind Frienna.

"That was something, Mister Kevin. I'm sorry for laughing..." Even though he's apologizing for his action, he's still doing it right now.

I get up on my feet and take a deep deep deep deep breath.

"Let's get out of here before we all drench in my stomach content." Frienna and Pip are helping me to walk toward the chest in the middle of the room.

"Careful, it might be a mimic." I pat him once on the shoulder.

The Baggage just chuckle on his way to the chest.

He opens it and grab the only magical artefacts in the chest before he close it again.

"That's all?" I ask him.

"Yes, I don't need the rest of it. It was all ammo and small guns." Says Pip while walking toward us.

"Well then, let's go to the next floor." The three of us walk to the entrance of the floor for a while and get into the elevator.

Pip presses the second floor button and up we gooo!
