Yuehan runs to dorm seven and gets his woodworking tools, some carrots, and some egg whites. With his wooden tools, Yuehan makes a wooden bowl to ground up the egg whites as well as the carrots to make a type of orange glue that smells like carrots and using this he fixes the broken comb as well as shaving off any evidence. This took three gruesome hours of mostly grinding the carrots and egg whites to powder and then adding tiny bits of water at a time to get the correct consistency. He didn't get this the first time. and after every failure, one of his bowls would be messed up and hard to clean with the yellow paste on it and would ruin the later trials so they would be thrown away.
Two hours into the process, Xiao Wu came looking for Yuehan and the comb and started crying to sleep when she saw it broken. Tang- San came back to the dorm 30 minutes after Xiao Wu cried herself to sleep and decided to help Yuehan in fixing it, he seemed even more precise than Yuehan even though it's his first time touching carving tools speeding up the time as well as making a handwritten letter for her to read when she wakes up.
The next day, Yuehan is awakened by a crying Xiao Wu while reading the letter Tang San made for her. When she noticed that she woke up Yuehan, she decided "thank-you for fixing my mother's hairbrush," she says with tears in her eyes, ready to cry if Yuehan said no thanks, "no problem it's what's friends are for, I'm sorry I couldn't keep the original look but I hope you like the new one" Yuehan says with a big smile on his face.
Today, they have lessons on how to conceal the tattoo and the different differences between a tool spirit and a beast spirit.
During class, the teacher introduced himself as Mr. Hen, and he had a beast spirit. He and a student volunteer showed two of the three different martial spirit types. The beast spirit, the tool spirit, and people with the third type were only recorded five times throughout the last 100 years. That type is an elemental martial spirit. The last five were a fire, an ice cube, a feather, a metal ore, and a corroded nail. All of this falls into the elementary martial spirit because of their ability to control an element to an extent without having to use their spirit rings. In particular, the spirit master of the corrosive nail destroyed 5 cities before the spirit hall could step in and capture him.
For the next 3 months Yuehan attended class twice a day, practiced with Tang San and Xiao Wu, and then cultivate till midnight then wake up at 7 before working with the school as a wood carpenter on the weekends. During this time Tang San and Xiao Wu and Shang Wu all have hit level 10 and obtained their first spirit ring.
Yuehan can be seen sitting in a carriage with one of the teachers of the academy heading to a spirit forest where most of the spirit beast's lives in the area. "Have you decided what direction you're going to go in?" The teacher asks Yuehan. "No, Mr. Hen, I haven't decided, but if I'm lucky, I'll go the support direction. "Yuehan replies, nervous of his first spirit ring, choosing his first ring will determine if he has any potential and what route to focus on in the future. Mr. Hen nods at that and continues to look outside the carriage.

They have been looking for a day and haven't found anything suitable except a baby giraffe looking creature called a berserk giraffe. they kept looking fearing this would cause a Yuehan to develop strange or weirdly not knowing how it would interact with his pocketwatch

They have found many small soul beasts like the Red Tailed Spider Monkey used by agility masters not useful for him, The 3-Legged Spider often found under Illonvg Trees, and the vampire squirrel that hanged with its food in a process of draining its blood....

"We should go back now. We have been looking for 5 days, and we have seen many great soul beasts for a first ring, " Mr Hen said in an exhausted tone fed up with yuehans picky needs and thinking of ways to develop his strange martial spirit.
"Maybe you're right. Let's go back. We might find one on the way back, " Yuehan replies with a desperate look on his face. on the way back, they noticed it was too quiet to be a forest full of soul beasts, so they looked at there surrounding to notice all small soul beast are hiding under bark, leaves, going deeper into the trees and bushes, before they focus on faint echos in the forest followed by loud thuds, they start retreating backwards why looking towards the noise to notice trees falling down. Mr Hen becomes agitated and rushes Yuehan to walk faster, scared of whatever could topple the 10 meter Illonvg Trees.Yuehan tries to back up quicker but the sounds keep getting closer causing sweats to drop from both of their heads. Mr Hen gives up on his slow student and slowly backs up even faster being even quieter than before leaving Yuehan no clue that his only source of protection has abandoned him. Yuehan looks around shaking from the shakes of the ground and increasingly roars "Mr Hen what do we do sir?" Silence was the response to his cry for help, he repeated his question hoping for a response. The response stays the same but the roars don't they become louder urging Yuehan to make a decision, with no time to hesitate or look behind him in case Mr Hen is still there he crawls into a hollow tree housing small soul beasts like iron long horn beetles, and other unforeseen beasts
a bit of time passes, and the noises are quite down until one huge roar is heard. Startling Yuehan and the soul beasts trapped inside with him. A vampire squire lured by the cluster of small prey watched the other soul beasts before jumping from its tree gliding to Yuehan. he is caught off guard tries to swat it away but doesn't have strength to face such a creature yet and makes a decision towards the one location it won't follow.
Yuehan runs as quietly and quickly as his body lets him. After 2 minutes of continuous running, Yuehan sees a big plateau with a black and white striped four-legged bull with horns and gorilla face fighting off a horde of 10 smaller blue striped hybrids of a gorilla and a bull with mostly gorilla features.
The white and black one seems to have already killed 5 of the small ones but seems to be fatally injured but isn't running away instead it's not moving a few meter radius from a cave on the plateau. obviously guarding it.
The 5 remaining blue stripped, looking tired and exhausted but continued because they know what they want is almost there.
Yuehan was hiding twenty feet away from them in a bush when he accidentally broke a twig, alerting the small hybrids of his arrival. The big hybrid sees this and tries to kill two in one smack with its massive paws. it manages to kill one and fling the other out of the battle, leaving three small hybrids left to deal with the big hybrid, leaving them with no chance of winning. The small hybrid realized this and backed off into the forest. While the big hybrid continues to watch its surroundings as well as Yuehan, who has an almost dead hybrid below his feet from the earlier attack of the big hybrid.
