Kerry the Slicer immediately stored the corpse of the darkness wrym in his space ring since the mages guild could make use of it for research.Parts of the monster could be used for creating magical devices and others could be used for alchemical research.
Kerry,Terry and Derris immediately rushed to the inside of the castle and reached it in no time flat.There they saw that the royal guards were winning the battle and killing the last few stragglers.
"Spread throughout the castle and see if there are any prisoners that need to be rescued.Then we will continue onwards to the cellar.Thats where the ritual to summon a demon is most likely taking place."Kerry had researched the layout and rooms of castle Zancrows blueprints and design.He also knew that cultists performed rituals in underground rooms since that was where places of darkness was most abundant.
Kerry also wanted to see if there were any victims still alive before he ventured down there.He would wait since he wanted all the royal guards to be available for the battle in the cellar.Who knew what the necromancers had in store for them.
Kerry waited a bit and a group of royal guards came back with a familiar looking man.Kerry immediately recognised him from the picture that Mandar Schion showed him.It was his test subject Valdel and he appeared to be fine as well as naked.Kerry had honestly hoped the man died as he couldn't bear for the man to return to a life of experimentation.
There was something unusual about the man however.His skin was deathly pale and his eyes seemed dead inside.Kerry immediately reached the conclusion that the necromancers had performed experiments on Valdel and he was dead inside due to constant experimentation.Kerry pitied Valdel.Orion felt uncomfortable in Kerrys gaze.
Kerry immediately remembered why he had come here.
"We shall now venture into the cellar and end the necromancer threat as well as put an end to their ritual."Terry spoke before Kerry could as he wanted to hurry things up.
The large group of royal guards and the small group of adventurers that included Ruth and Harkon ventured deeper into the castle.All the necromancers and undead that were in the way were killed immediately.
The large group then reached some stairs that went far down.The stair seemed derelict and unutilised in some places.Kerry and the other two royal guard captains braced themselves and went down the stairs with each of their groups.They eventually reached large double doors that was guarded by two large flesh golems.
Flesh golems were created by necromancers from a range of fleshy materials including human flesh and the flesh of magical beasts.They sometimes possessed the abilities and qualities of these creatures depending on the parts used.Flesh golems tended to vary wildly but these two seemed to use humans as a base and foundation.
They were an amalgamation of human flesh,bone and tendons.They were seven feet tall and had sharpened thigh bones coming out of their wrists.They were also powerful and had auras at the low class A.
"I'll handle this one."said Derris as he felt he hadn't made enough contributions to the mission and job at hand.
He immediately brandished his sword and rushed towards the flesh golems at speeds that Kerry and Terry were incapable of by reinforcing his body with mana.The flesh golems seemed to witness something whizzing towards them but were unable to react as Derris slashed the right one across the chest.
The flesh golem immediately kicked out with its fleshy amalgamated foot intending to break Derris's rib cage.Derris nimbly dodged to the side and sliced its thick leg off.Derris was about to follow up but the other flesh golem had reached them and he had yo step back to avoid getting stabbed by a sharpened thigh bone.
Derris immediately slashed out towards its arm tendon and severed it.The flesh golem immediately slashed out with its other arm only to have it severed at the shoulder.The flesh golem was left defenceless as Derris slashed its bare skull and brain in half.
The other flesh golem was still on the ground as its leg was chopped off and it was slowly crawling towards Derris.It was now moving at an inconsequential speed however and Derris had no problem slashing the bare skull and brain of this one either.
Both flesh golems were dead and Orion who was watching was impressed and afraid at the same time.He couldn't even see the royal guard captain or the flesh golems move.He already knew that the way he was now he wouldn't stand a chance in a fight against them.
The group immediately opened the double doors and bore witness to the scene inside.There was a massive pile of dead bodies in the centre of the large room with a number of necromancers chanting in a circle around it.
"Hurry up and deal with these intruders.I can't be bothered to do so after sleeping so long."A male voice resounded throughout the room.
