Driving through the desert back to town, the usual loud and confident Thor sat quietly and stared off into the distance.
"Is something wrong? Why are you so quiet." Nick knew the reason but he had to coax it out.
"I am such a buffoon Nicholas, ive had it all backwards. I tried to act strong and mighty, even going so far as to initiate a war to prove my resolve, because i wanted my father to relax knowing the kingdom was in safe hand. Its only now i realized my stupidy, my reckless actions resulted in my father dying." The mighty thorn was biting his lip, trying desperately to hold the tears in.
"Your father, Odin, is dead? How did you find that out?" Odin wasnt dead, Loki had simply snuck into Thors holding cell and spun the lie of their fathers death so that he would feel guilty and remain on earth as Loki became the ruler of asgard.
"My brother Loki told me..." Thor had never felt such a deep well of sadness and regret in his millenia and a half of living.
"Loki? The god of Mischief, Trickery, and deciet?... I obviously don't know him as well as you do, but from all of the Mythos humanity has on Loki, you shouldn't trust his word for a fact."
"Nicholas, my brother is a liar but even he wouldnt lie about something like this!" Despite all of his lying and deceiving, Thor still trusted that Loki wouldn't lie about their fathers death.
Knowing that convincing him that Loki was lying would be pointless, Nick chose another approach.
"Your father banished you for a reason Thor, not as simple punishment but as a lesson. You've learnt what your father was trying to teach you, now its your job to make sure his death wasn't in vain."
Thors stopped staring out the window and looked down at his now mortal hands, clenching them tightly with determination.
"Perhaps your right Nicholas, my fathers last orders were my banishment. I must make something out of it." As he finished speaking, the car came to a stop in front of a bar.
"Lets drink to your fathers Honor, regale me with storys of the great Odin while we get drunk!" A smile returned to Thors face as they got out and went to the bar.
Buying a bottle of whiskey, Nick ordered two pints and added a large splash of whisket to both drinks. Nick didnt know about Thors mortal body, but after absorbing 5 creatures his liver functioned so well he had to chug a bottle of hard liquor to feel tipsy.
Nick took a sip of his strong alcoholic beverage and was about to put it down when he saw Thor making direct eye contact with him and continued drinking! Taking this as a challenge, Nick continued drink the strong boilermaker before both finished their drinks at the same time.
"Bartender, we'll have another!" Thor order, he lifted his cup up about to smash it on the ground before stopping himself and putting it down on the counter.
"So what memory of Odin stands out the most." Nick began unscrewing the cap on his whiskey bottle and dumping a good bit into both beer mugs.
"Ah that had go be the battle of Svartalfheim, at that time we..." Thor began to talk about his father.
In-between speaking of his father both Thor and Nick had a chug competition, neither one willing to back down and drank the entire 16oz Boilermakers in one gulp.
It was to the point that those around them began taking notice, the bartenders tried cutting them off but Nick persuaded him by tipping a hundred dollars, not to mention thag neither one looked overly drunk at that time.
Thor continued on telling his stories and drinking beer until the Bar closed at 2am, by then both Nick and Thor were sloshed and stumbling through the town. While they both had high alcohol tolerance, they went through two bottles of whiskey and nearly a keg of bear, that was more than enough alcohol to get them drunk!
"For a mere mortal, you have an asgardian level of tolerance!" Thor slurred out.
"Theres nothing mere about this mortal, I bet I could take you in a fight!" Nick equally slurred out.
"I am a 1,500 year old god, even drunk i could take you!" At this statement both Nick and Thor stopped walking and began side eyeing each other.
One thing led to another and Nick found himself in the local park fist fighting Thor! For asgardians it wasn't too uncommon to fist fight one another, especially drunk!
Thor threw a punch that was quickly followed up with a kick, both dodged by the drunken Nick but just when he was about to counter attack, thor headbutted Nick out of nowhere!
Nick thought this was gonna be a friendly spar but Thor was actually trying, he wondered what the hell was going on but saw the look in Thors eyes, he was angry and frustrated.
Nick realized this fight was Thor venting his feelings, Asgardians were a warrior race and this must've been how they vented. Still nick wouldnt take this beating lying down!
As thor tried to punch Nick in the abdomen, Nick didnt dodge but instead replied with a punch in a similar fashion. Nick was stronger and faster than Thor but the god had much more experience, Thor's asgardian fighting style wasnt better than Nicks MMA but it'd been honed over hundreds of years of battle, making it incomparably better.
Neither one dodged or block, they went all out attacking and had been going at it for over ten minutes! They were both covered in bruises with a few cuts here and there, the fight ended with both of them landing a punch square in the others face collapsing them both to the ground.
Looking up at the stars, his body aching in pain, Thor had a melancholy smile. His mind thinking about Asgard and all of his friends but knowing he was banished forever.
"Do you think ill ever be allowed to return Nick?.....Nick?" Looking down from the star, Thor spotted a snoring Nick.
Thor looked up at the stars, his tense mind finally relaxing and took in the beautiful scenery earth had. He and his warriors always looked up at the stars wherever they set up camp during a war, this scenery filled him with incredible nostalgia.
"You drink like an asgardian, fight like one and even sleep under the stars like one! To think a mortal like you exist." Looking up at the stars one last time, Thor closed his eyes and went to sleep.

In asgard, the Trickster god Loki sat on Odins thrown in the Chamber room, his eyes radiated a cunning intelligence as he looked down at Lady Sif and the Warrior Three.
"My first order as King cannot be the dismissal of my fathers last order, im sorry but my brother will have to remain on earth for the time being"
A look of sadness washed over the four faces as they understood Loki's situation, they thanked Loki for his time before leaving.
With the door behind them closing shut, Loki looked around the large chamber room before walking over to the corner of the wall and continuing on, bypassed the fake illusuin of the wall.
Using his authority as the new King of Asgard, Loki opened Odins vault that housed some of the most powerful objects in the universe. Loki bypassed all of the strange and powerful objects, including a fake infinity gauntlet, before landing on a blue glowing cube that had two hand holds.
As he picked up the cube, Lokis hand turned blue like a Frost Giant and he marveled at its power.
"The Casket of ancient Winters, one of the most powerful object in the hands of a Frost Giant... Although, i guess you might be considered the strongest weapon in all of asgard." As Loki spoke out loud, a giant 10ft Uru automaton stepped forward. The magical robot followed the commands of the previous king to protect these object's.
Of course in the matter of hours Loki would sick this very same Automaton on Thor in hopes of killing him!
