Chapter 8 - Potter Manor

After shopping in Diagon Alley was finished, Uncle Edward and I went to potter manor. The key was also a portkey to the potter manor.

Narrator POV

Inside the potter manor, two figures suddenly appeared outside the gate. They were none other than harry potter and Edward. Followed by those two more figures appeared. They were elves, but they were in nice clothing, unlike the usual elves who wear haggard clothing.

"Master potter, welcome to the manor." They said in unison.

"Are you the house elves of the Potter family? You look unlike the usual house elves," Harry said

"Yes, master, we are the proud elves of the Potter family, and misses lily is the one who made us wear this clothing. She said the elves of Potter must look nice to represent them."

Harry nodded in approval as he was also thinking of making the house elves wear nice clothing if there were any house elves in pooter manor, but his mom already took care of this.

Edward said, "That's the lily I know. If she did not know that house elves would die without the master's magic, she would have freed them instead. She was a smart and kind witch."

Harry looked happy, as if he was him instead of his mom. It is one of my favorite things for Harry to do. He likes to listen to everything about their parents from Edward. Edward was a Hufflepuff and a year mate of his parents. It seems he knew them during the time of war as he wasn't close to the marauders in school. Harry brought a broom to try flying as he heard his father was a Quidditch player.

"Master, we will take you to the wardroom so you can take control of the wards in the house. Until then, your guest must wait outside as he is not registered inwards of the house."

"I am sorry, uncle. I will make sure to add you to the wards as soon as possible. Please wait for a while."

And soon, the house elves led him into the house. The house was magnificent, and it seemed as if it had not been left empty for years.

"You seemed to have done a good job in keeping the house clean. How were you fed magic? You do not look like you have any sign of magical starvation."

"We were fed with the magic of the master of the wards. It has enough magic to last us for a few more decades. And the wards are connected to a lay line passing beneath the manor, master." Replied one of the elves

"I forgot to ask you your names. What are your names."

The elf, with a male voice that was wearing a butler's voice, said, "Sadkey, master.

The elf that was wearing a maid dress said. " mipsy, master."

"Harry Potter, it a pleasure to have you as my elves," Harry said as he kept his right hand on the left side of his chest and made a small bow.

"Please, master, don't do that. We are no purebloods or even humans for you to treat us with such courtesy." Mipsy said.

He was then led to the wardroom. He opened the door to the wardroom and saw an old-looking room; it seemed that it was the only room that aged as it looked contrary to the rest of the manor.

Harry POV

"We are sorry, master. We are not allowed to enter the room. Only the heir and the lord are allowed."

Understanding the case, I stepped into the room, went to the room, and took out a pocket knife I kept for protection. I used it to cut my finger slightly, and a drop of blood came out, and it dropped on the ward stone. I suddenly felt a sense of weakness; it seemed that I was drained of my magic, as I still did not go through my magical maturation. I did not have much magic in my body. I started feeling the wards of the manor, and I understood its protections. It seems more advanced than usual wards that should generally be on a pure-blood house. It seems my mom had access to the ward stone even though she is not lord potter.

I added Uncle Edward to the wards and went outside. I looked at the mipsy and pointed my cut finger to the mipsy.

"Can you heal it, mipsy, if you can?"

"Yes, master, I will do anything master asks me for." She excitedly nods and snaps her finger, causing the wound to stop bleeding, and it recovered like nothing happened

"Call uncle in. I added him to the wards."

I started exploring the manor, it had a library, and it seemed there were many books in it, from hundreds of year-old books to books that were released a decade ago. It seemed the manor did not have many treasures, though, I encountered my grand fathers' portrait, and he seemed happy to chat with me. We chatted for about an hour, and he told me about my father and his mischief when he was young. It seems portraits do not remember their magical skills, instead only their memories of normal lives, and it was implemented so that their portraits won't be abused to do the bidding of the person who holds them.

I went back to the living room, where Uncle was seemingly reading a book about runes from the library.

"Hello, Harry. Are you ready to go back?"

"Yes, Uncle Edward," I said with a disappointed face. I wanted to stay at the manor and spend more time with my grandfather. He was the only family that I could contact, I tried to bring his portrait with me, but it seems it is attached to the wall with a strong sticking charm. I knew I had to go back so that my mother's protection could get stronger, and it had to be with someone from my family, which happened to aunt petunia.

I held Uncle Edwards's hands and disappeared from the house with Uncle Edward. All the items I brought were in my trunk, which was shrunk. It seems either expansion charm or shrinking charm. Only one of them could be applied at a time. Since I did not have anything much, I requested a shrinking charm. Wizards generally use expansion charm as it helps them store much more at a lower price since expansion charm is cheaper, but I can just buy more trunks and shrink them. I have money, after all.
