Princess Vittoria Olympia of the Romana Family of Olympus
The damp October air of Edinburgh carried the sharp, salt-edged bite of the North Sea, a bitter, unforgiving contrast to the balmy, sun-drenched coastal winds of my home in Olympus.
I stood near the stone balustrade of the palace glasshouse, wrapping my oversized cream cashmere sweater tighter around my shoulders. Even in a plush knit, dark leggings, and my favorite knee-high leather boots, my five-foot-two frame felt impossibly tiny against the soaring, imposing grey stone walls of Holyroodhouse Palace. I dragged a hand through my thick, waist-length dark curls, letting the damp Scottish mist catch in the spiral pattern of my hair. My caramel skin was a stark, warm contrast against the bleak, drizzle-soaked backdrop of Scotland, and my hazel eyes narrowed as I watched two royal guards in tartan kilts pacing the ancient battlements above.
