Chapter 4 - Phoenix and Founding of the Wei Empire

As the light dies down, Ken and Dan uncover their eyes and become shocked at what they see.

It is a large, bright blue, majestic bird with dark blue eyes emitting so much light that it is the sun itself.

They both knew what they were seeing; it was none other than a Phoenix, the undying bird of legends that could be reborn when it died.

The Phoenix then stands up with its feet and looks at Ken.

Phoenix: "Are you the one who woke me up?"

Its voice is male and holds a lot of authority; Ken nods at its question.

Ken: "Yes, I'm the one who touched your egg, and you came out."

It kept looking at him for some time and did the unexpected, which shocked Ken and Dan. It bows down to Ken as if he were a king or emperor.

Phoenix: "Then the prophecy is fulfilled; I now serve you, master."

This confused them both about what it was saying: prophecy, master?

Dan: "Wait, wait, wait... Ken is now your master. What are you talking about!?"

Ken: "I would like to know, too, what prophecy you are talking about."

The Phoenix stops bowing and looks at them.

Phoenix: "You do not know, then, why are you here, master?"

Ken: "Well, to tell you the truth, we just somehow appeared on this island with no way back home, but now I'm interested in this prophecy, as well as your legend here."

The Phoenix starts the thing and then looks up at the ceiling; it has a painting of itself.

Phoenix: "It started 800 years ago when this island was filled with people worldwide."

Dan: "800 years, that was during the Void Century era."

Phoenix: "Yes, that's right, this island's name is Phoenix Island; I know, it's named after what I am, but for 800 years, I was this island's protector, protecting it from humans that want to harm this place."

Ken: "As usual, humans will always follow their greed for themselves."

Phoenix: "Perhaps, but like any living thing, humans are not all the same, including those living here. They started a Kingdom to protect their citizens and save others from other Kingdoms.

Dan: "So what happened here?"

Phoenix: "The Kingdom Oracle gave a prophecy; he predicted my death and the kingdom's destruction, but told me that a new Kingdom called an Empire would rise in its place, and I would be reborn again to serve the new ruler."

Ken and Dan looked at each other, wondering how an Oracle predicted this moment. Dan looked at the Phoenix, wanting to ask a question.

Dan: "Can I ask you something? Who or what destroyed the Kingdom?"

Phoenix: "A group of humans attacked, killing all the people here and me. I do not know their names, but they called themselves the house of Nerona."

Ken and Dan were shocked at who attacked the Kingdom and killed the Phoenix.

Nerona was the name of a family that became one of the founders of the World government, and the one who controls it is Imu, who is shrouded in mystery. Invankov, a member of the Revolutionary Army, thinks that Imu is the same person from 800 years ago called Nerona Imu.

Dan: "That story you told us; this Nerona family must have been powerful."

Ken thinks about what he heard: a new Kingdom coming after the old one, the Nerona family, and him becoming a master to a Phoenix. He then looks at the Poneglyph.

Ken: "Hey, can you read this Ponglyph and tell us why it is here?"

The Phoenix looks in his direction and sees it.

Phoenix: "Ah, yes, I can. The King created this stone; it is a message for you, master."

Ken: For me, what does it say?"

Phoenix (Reading the Poneglyph): "To the one who found the Phoenix egg, I made this so that you may understand what is happening. My Oracle predicted that my Kingdom would fall and the Phoenix would be killed, but a new Kingdom would rise from our old one, and the Phoenix would be reborn in your era. I ask you to make your Kingdom great and oppose the one that destroyed our beloved home. May you find peace in your era."

Ken goes to the Poneglyph and puts a hand on it. The old King loves his Kingdom with how he words it on the Poneglyph. He always finds the World Government wrong with its politics; even the World Nobles are nothing but human. He made up his mind; he turned to Dan.

Ken: "Dan, I've decided... I'm going to revive the Wei Empire here."

Dan was shocked at what he said.

Dan: "Revive the Wei Empire! Are you serious!?"

Ken: "Yes, I am. We may not be able to go home now, so let's start something new and revive our ancestors' great empire here; together, we can make a world of peace."

Dan can see that Ken has confidence; he believes they can revive the great Wei Empire and truly make peace here. It is this confidence that led Dan to make up his mind.

Dan: "You're right, we can do it; the fact is that you are a member of the Cao clan, and I am a member of the Xiahou clan; we can do it. Still, this means it will be us against the World Government and face the thing Dr. Vegapunk made."

Ken knew what he was talking about: the Mother Flame that the Imu used to destroy the Lulusia Kingdom. He then turns to the Phoenix.

Ken: "Since I'm your master now, can we count on your help to protect this island and bring peace to this world?"

The Phoenix bows to Ken as it hears his words.

Phoenix: "Yes, my master, I will serve you to the ends of the world to bring peace to this world."

Ken nods and turns to look at Dan, who bounces. It was time for a new era of peace to begin, and the rise of the Wei Empire once more.
