It was Noah Linden. The two men he brought with him pulled Mrs. Hayes away. Noah supported Mrs. Sutton and asked, "Mrs. Sutton, are you all right?"
Yvonne Evans stood to the side, watching Noah Linden. 'This man...'
'He's so handsome!'
When Mrs. Sutton saw it was Noah Linden, she felt an instant sense of relief, as if an ally had arrived. "Noah, Sharon... she..."
"I've already heard." Anne Sutton had called him. She couldn't get here in time, so she'd asked Noah to come check on things first.
And so he had.
Noah said, "Let's go see Sharon first."
He walked into the hospital room with Mrs. Sutton.
Sharon Sutton had just been stabilized and was lying on the bed. Her lips were colorless from the blood loss, making her look almost lifeless.
Wiping her tears, Mrs. Sutton said, "The baby's gone. Maybe that's for the best. As long as she's okay, that's all that matters."
