Chapter 17 - Kicking her out

Elizabeth knelt before Alex's mother, cheeks wet with tears, her voice quivering with desperation. "It's all a lie," she said in a hoarse whisper. "Please don't throw me out of this house, I beg of you."

"Mom, throw her out of this house!" Alex's voice reverberated with raw anger and frustration. The betrayal he felt in Elizabeth's actions fueled his demand for justice. "We cannot let her deceive us any longer," he continued, his voice trembling with a mix of anger and determination. "She has manipulated us, lied to us, and tarnished our family's trust. It is time to face the truth and rid ourselves of her presence."

Alex's mother, her voice now calm but firm, turned to the reporters and demanded their departure. "That's enough! Leave this place immediately," she declared, her eyes conveying a sense of authority. The reporters hesitated for a moment, taken aback by her sudden change in demeanour.

"We will handle this matter privately," she continued, her voice carrying a hint of sternness. "There is no need for further intrusion or speculation. We appreciate your concern, but our family will deal with this situation on our own."

The reporters, sensing the seriousness in her tone, reluctantly began to disperse. Cameras were lowered, microphones were silenced, and the crowd slowly dispersed, leaving behind an atmosphere tinged with curiosity and unanswered questions.

As the last of the reporters retreated, Alex's mother turned her attention back to the family, her gaze softening. She took a deep breath and approached Alex, her hand gently reaching out to touch his shoulder. "We need to talk," she said, her voice tinged with a mix of concern and regret.

As soon as the reporters had left, a wave of anger washed over Alex's mother, her frustration and disappointment bubbling to the surface. She turned towards Elizabeth, her voice laced with a mix of anger and desperation.

"What is all this about, Elizabeth?" she exclaimed, her eyes burning with indignation. "You are my step-sister, and I have allowed you to stay in this house, but you are single-handedly tarnishing our family's reputation. Because of your actions, I suffered a great loss yesterday. What do you want from us?"

As the weight of the situation settled upon the silent room, all eyes turned towards Alex's mother, awaiting her next words. The tension in the air was palpable, and a hushed anticipation filled the space.

Taking a deep breath, Alex's mother stood tall, her voice steady and commanding. Her words cut through the silence, resonating with a mix of authority and vulnerability.

"I am kicking you out, Elizabeth. You have no place here," Alex's mother declared, her voice laced with a firm resolve. The words hung in the air, echoing with finality and the weight of a shattered trust.

Elizabeth's eyes widened in disbelief, her tears transforming from sorrow to a mixture of fear and anger. She opened her mouth to protest, to plead her case, but the stern expression on Alex's mother's face silenced her.

"You have deceived us, tarnished our family's name, and caused immeasurable pain," Alex's mother continued, her voice steady and unwavering. "Your actions have shown a lack of remorse and a disregard for the values we hold dear."

The room remained silent, everyone keenly aware of the magnitude of the moment. Elizabeth stood there, her emotions conflicting within her, but the weight of her actions was undeniable.

"Pack your belongings and leave this house," Alex's mother concluded, her voice leaving no room for negotiation. "You are no longer welcome here."

Alex's mother instructed the maids to gather Elizabeth's belongings, a clear indication that her time in the house had come to an abrupt end. With haste, the maids brought the items and unceremoniously threw them at Elizabeth's feet, adding a further sting to her already wounded pride.

As Elizabeth prepared to leave, her eyes locked with Alex's, a sinister smile curling on her lips. In a chilling whisper, she uttered her ominous threat, "I will take revenge."

The words hung in the air, carrying an unsettling energy that sent a shiver down Alex's spine. He couldn't help but feel a mixture of fear and determination, knowing that Elizabeth's vengeful intentions could potentially disrupt their lives once again.

After Elizabeth's departure, a sense of relief washed over Alex. Although he couldn't ignore the pain caused by her betrayal, he found solace in the fact that their toxic dynamic was finally severed. Grateful for the support he had received from Yuri, he felt an overwhelming urge to express his gratitude.

As Alex's mind wandered, his mother informed him that she and his dad would be leaving the country for a week due to work. "Okay," Alex replied with a nod, accepting his parents' announcement.

After saying announcing to Alex, his mother went to her room. She needed some time alone to think and process everything that had happened. Inside the quiet space, she pondered the events of the day and felt a range of emotions.
