Chapter 6 - Music is love

As they sat together, savouring the delicious meal, Joey mustered the courage to ask Alex about the reason behind his reluctance to go back home. He noticed a hint of sadness in Alex's eyes and wanted to understand his friend better.

With genuine concern, Joey gently asked, "Alex, if you don't mind me asking, why don't you want to go back home? Is something troubling you?"

Alex paused for a moment, contemplating whether to reveal his true identity and the complexities of his royal life.

Alex hesitated for a moment, contemplating whether or not to reveal his true identity. He was concerned that Joey might be frightened or overwhelmed, considering the powerful nature of his royal family. However, before Alex could make a decision, Joey unexpectedly spoke up, showing empathy and understanding.

Joey reassured Alex that ''you didn't have to disclose anything unless you felt comfortable'' doing so. He emphasized that he was there to listen and support Alex whenever he was ready to share. His words touched Alex deeply, and he felt a sense of relief and gratitude.

Feeling reassured by Joey's kind response, Alex decided to take his advice. He would wait for the right time and place to reveal his royal background, knowing that Joey would be there to listen without judgment.

To bring some balance to the conversation, Alex turned his attention to the numerous musical instruments present in Joey's home. Curiosity sparked within him, and he couldn't help but ask Joey about them.

"Why do you have so many musical instruments?" Alex inquired, his interest piqued. "Oh yeah, I have a deep interest in music, and I absolutely love to sing," Joey exclaimed with a bright smile on his face. He shared his passion for singing and expressed how it allowed him to convey his emotions and connect with others on a profound level.

Curiosity sparked within Alex, and he eagerly asked Joey if he could hear him sing. Joey hesitated for a moment, feeling a bit shy.

''I am not that good singer'' Joey said

Initially, Joey hesitated when Alex asked him to sing. He was a bit shy and unsure about showcasing his talent. However, Alex could sense the hidden passion within Joey and persisted with his request.

"Come on, Joey," Alex pleaded with a hopeful smile. "I can tell you have an amazing voice. It would mean the world to me if you could sing something for us."

Joey looked at Alex, seeing the earnestness in his eyes. He took a deep breath, gathering his courage, and finally nodded. "Alright, just this once," he said, a hint of excitement in his voice.

As the room fell into a hushed silence, Joey began to sing. His voice filled the space, carrying a mix of vulnerability and raw talent. The melody and lyrics intertwined, creating a captivating harmony that resonated with both Alex and the atmosphere around them.

With each note, Joey's confidence grew, and his voice soared. The room became a stage, and Joey poured his heart and soul into his performance. The music wrapped around them, creating an intimate and magical moment.

As the last note lingered in the air, there was a collective sigh of awe. Alex's eyes gleamed with admiration and appreciation. "Joey, that was extraordinary," he said, his voice filled with genuine amazement. "You have such a gift. Thank you for sharing it with us."

Joey blushed a mix of joy and humility on his face. "I'm glad you liked it, Alex," he replied, his voice tinged with newfound confidence. "Music is my passion, and it brings me great joy to be able to share it with others."

"Why don't you become a singer?" Alex asked, curiosity shining in his eyes as he looked at Joey. The question lingered in the air, inviting Joey to reflect upon his dreams and aspirations.

Joey's hopeful expression shifted slightly, a touch of concern crossing his face. "But Alex, pursuing a career in music requires a lot of financial resources," he said, his voice tinged with a hint of disappointment. "Instruments, studio time, promotion, and so much more. It's not easy to gather all the necessary funds."

"You're right, Joey," Alex replied, his voice thoughtful. "Money can sometimes pose a challenge, but remember, where there's a will, there's a way. There are various avenues you can explore to overcome this obstacle."

Joey let out a big yawn, signaling his exhaustion. He looked at Alex with a tired smile and said, "You know what, Alex? It's getting late. I think it's time for us to call it a night and get some sleep."

Alex chuckled, realizing how late it had gotten. "You're right, Joey. We've had quite a day. Let's hit the hay and recharge for tomorrow," he replied, feeling the weariness catch up with him as well.
