A few minutes prior
Among the people, there was a teenage girl named Eala. Eala was an orphan, and she could take whatever job came her way, even if it was a tiring and dangerous mining job.
Her friend Woki had been advising her against it. He almost came with her this time, but he was stopped by his mother. She was glad he wasn't suffering with her.
She shivered in pain, and her hand held down her bleeding wound in an attempt to slow down the discharge. It was dark and cold, she was hungry and parched.
To be honest, Eala was in so much agony she wasn't sure which feeling was worse.
She felt herself growing weaker by the second. It could be due to blood loss and then hunger.
They all had their spaces, but only a small portion was for sustenance. One, they didn't have much money to stockpile on food and drinks in the first place. Second, having more space for transferring the ores out was more convenient and would let them earn more.
