"But one of the keys of being a hero is..." All Might points to a wall, a dramatic edge to his words, "...looking good!"
Weird boxes in numbered capsule compartments slid from the wall.
Which was pretty ingenious and convenient if I do say so myself, I'd have to ask how they work later.
"These were designed for you based on your Quirk registration forms and the requests you sent in before school started."
Many of my classmates gasp and cheer in excitement.
I'm not ashamed to admit I'm excited about my costume and how it turned out.
"Get yourselves suited up, and then meet me at Training Ground Beta!"
"Yes, sir!" we collectively responded.

We walked down a dark walkway to meet our teacher and as we got close enough to see him, the light was cast on us the more we edged toward the exit.
He posed with his hands on his hips, "They say that clothes make the pros, young ladies and gentlemen, and behold, you are the proof!"
Any metal, plastic, or armor on our costumes shined in the sunlight.
"Take this to heart. From now on you are all...heroes in training! This is getting me all revved up. You look so cool! Now. Shall we get started, you buncha newbies?"

A few classmates observed other costumes, some complementing each other.
Bubbles approached me, "I really like your costume!"
I grinned back, "Thanks. I like yours, too, it suits you."
"I'm Ochako Uraraka. What's—wait, you're that girl from the news aren't you?"
I could only sigh, "Yes, it seems I've unintentionally become somewhat of a celebrity."
"It was smart to have you at this school, you have potential and you'll boost up their status."
"That makes sense. It was like WW3 between schools trying to get me enrolled, apparently..."
"Woah! That's amazing—Oh, by the way, your cape is really cute!"
"Actually, my friend recommended it since she said my costume was, quote-unquote, 'Too plain'."

Aiko bounced in her seat, "Did you design your hero costume?"
"Yeah, you can take a look if you want."
She took the final sketch I made, "It'll be made by your grandmother's company, right?"
I nodded, "Yeah, so she spoiled me a little."
"Honey, it's...kinda plain."
"Well, wait, you see," It wasn't what it seemed, "See the bodysuit? It regulates my body temperature."
I pointed at the black long-sleeved bodysuit, "It cools my body in the summer or hot environments that can endanger my body and vice versa for the cold. But thin enough where it won't make it hard to breathe."
"Mkayyy. Does the belt have a purpose?" she pointed to the gold belt.
"Yeah. Remember that invention I was working on? Like the little pill-like tablets that store enough food or water to replenish you?"
"Yes? Wait, did you—?"
I smiled, "It's still a work in progress, but I mostly got it. It stores up to 100 in there, just in case I'm ever stranded by myself or with a team."
"I see, the boots are cute. Is anything special about them?"
They were black combat boots with white decor, "Mm. Not much other than easy mobility and titanium soles. Makes my kicks harder against bigger people."
"So essentially, to curb stomp people?"
"What—no! I mean, unless it's a villain maybe..."
Aiko raised a brow, amused, "A gas mask?"
The gas mask was black, with white on the trim, and the purifiers that protruded from the metal mask were pure white.
"What if the air is polluted with gas or something?"
"Can't you pollute the air with your Quirk?"
I scratched my chin, "Well, yeah. But if it's not by my Quirk, highly polluted air can affect me. It's also a communication device. I have 50 communication pods I made."
"Those tiny black dots you made that can stick to you?"
"They're all linked. So, if there's ever a big emergency when we need to be spread out, I can communicate with others without it easily being detected."
"Alright," she smiled, "The gloves?"
I nervously smiled, "Ah...Just good for grip and protection, they're sturdy but thin enough to let my attacks go through them all at once."
That's so boring, I could see she was thinking it by her face.
"Those are useful tools, but it still looks plain--Oh, I know! Add a cute little cape!
"Aiko, I'm not gonna have some villain pulling on my cape—"
"—No, I mean around your waist—Oh, what if it was able to expand really far to, like, protect a whole group like your shield, yet still be able to shrink? Oooh ooh! And if it was really soft but bulletproof and heatproof? It's stylish but still simple and efficient enough for you."
I blinked at the idea.
"What? I know the idea is a little far-fetched…but…"
I ruffled her hair, which she whined about, "No, that's actually a really good idea! Maybe I might infuse my suit with bulletproof material, too...That gave me a lot of ideas, thanks, Ai-chan!"
"Y-yeah, sure. I hope that helps you more," she gave a shy smile.
"Oh, it definitely will."

"It puts the look together!" Bubbles agreed.
We heard footsteps running toward the class, must have been Midoriya, I'd noticed he was missing.
Bubbles—uh...Uraraka turned to him, "Ah! Hey, Deku!"
I turned around, intrigued by his costume choice, it looked homemade and obviously referenced All-Might.
"Uraraka!"
She politely waved to me and went to talk to him, not that it did much, I could still hear them like they were next to me.
"I really need to get a grip on that...I've heard way too much," I muttered to myself.
"Oh, looks like we're matching."
I looked ahead of me, the blonde with a lightning streak I saw before.
I shrugged, "My suit works with a few costumes in here."
"Denki Kaminari, ladies man," he held out his hand.
I give an amused hum, shaking it, "Yeah, I'm sure you just have ladies lining up, pretty boy. I'm Daitan'na Hitsuji."
He smirked, "Matching with a cute girl like you…maybe it's fate."
I snort, matching his expression in a sarcastic manner, "Oh, I'm sure it's destined to be."
"Now, that you're ready," All Might began, quieting us, "it's time for combat training."
"Sir," Iida saluted like we were in the army or something, but, in a way, I suppose we are. "This is the fake city from our entrance exam. Does that mean that we'll be conducting urban battles again?"
All Might lifted two fingers, "Not quite. I'm going to move you two steps ahead. Most of the villain fights you see on the news take place outside. However, statistically speaking, run-ins with the most dastardly evildoers take place indoors. Think about it, backroom deals, home invasions, secret underground lairs. Truly intelligent criminals stay hidden in the shadows. For this training exercise, you'll be split into teams of good guys and bad guys—Due to an uneven amount of students, for one student, there will be the option of having classmates participate again in your match."
I raised my hand, "I'll go last since, technically, I was a last-minute enrollment anyway."
"All right, Young Hitsuji. We will later discuss who will join you for your match."
I smiled, giving a laid-back, two-finger salute, "Sir, yes sir, Mr. Might."
He continued to explain the exercise, "You will be fighting two-on-two indoor battles."
The frog-like girl tilted her head, "Isn't this a little advanced?"
"The best training is what you get on the battlefield! But remember, you can't just punch a robot this time."
Did they punch robots? That's dope. The entrance exam sounds eventful.
"You're dealing with actual people now."
The approachable-looking girl who wore an open bodysuit, asked a question next, "Sir, will you be the one deciding who wins?"
"How much can we hurt the other team?" Bakugo casually asked.
His costume definitely suits him, very explosive--are those gauntlets?! That's fire! How much power do they store? Do they work similarly to real grenades? I would guess, since so far he seems more like the practical type—I can't nerd out right now, I'll ask him later or something.
Bubbles asked, "Do we need to worry about the losers getting expelled like earlier?"
Iida raised his hand, "Will you be splitting us up based on chance or comparative skill?"
They sure are asking a lot of questions before he explains everything. Aren't questions usually after?
The shiny man showed off his cape, "Isn't this cape très chic?"
It is in fact very chic, very shiny, too.
"Listen up!"
All Might pulled open a small book...is that a teacher's manual or something?
"The situation is this. The villains have hidden a nuclear missile somewhere in their hideout. The heroes must try to foil their plans. To do that, the good guys either have to catch the evildoers or recover the weapon. Likewise, the bad guys succeed if they protect their payload or capture the heroes."
We watched as he held a yellow box in front of him.
"Time's limited, and we'll choose teams by drawing lots!"
