CHAPTER 4 :-
MYSTERIOUS SOUL
At the moment, Long Chen had already approached the throne area where the four of them were sitting with a distance of about 100 feet away from them. That was when he could now see the appearances of the four Gods. Although his soul was many times stronger than them, it was still in a dormant state and he couldn't awaken it nor even know how to use the strength of his soul. He had no idea about all that. Otherwise, he could have made out their appearances the moment he saw them.
'Oh! This guys, are really powerful but I can't tell how powerful they are. Mostly the one that looked simple and ordinary. He has a sharp and oppressive might like a sheathed Divine Sword. And this one; if I am not wrong, he is the mysterious expert who picked me up from the Path of Reincarnation. He looks like a mortal but there is a mysterious feeling around him. He feels unfathomable. This huge guy feels like a mountain just sitting there. This aura he emits feels like of one that has experienced countless great battles and endless slaughtering. He looks like a war god. And this lady here; Oh! How beautiful. She is like a fairly that has descended straight from the heavens. Heavens? Damn it! I hate the heavens. Anyway, she is really charming. I wonder if she is married.' Long Chen thought to himself in amazement.
Although he could feel a lot of things from them, he had no idea how he could fathom them and tell. But all in all, Long Chen maintained a calm and relaxed expression. He looked completely relaxed as if he was afraid of nothing even in front of the oppressive might the Gods emitted. In fact, he was completely unaffected. His soul had already created an invincible barrier around him that blocked and neutralized the oppressive might from the four Gods. The weird thing was that none of them noticed the barrier covering Long Chen. Even he himself was unaware of it.
"Now, what is the purpose of you all bringing me here in this world?" Asked Long Chen in anticipation while looking at Jian Chen; the god who had snatched him from the Path of Reincarnation. Even though he couldn't tell how strong he was, Long Chen could feel that he was the strongest and very mysterious.
"Young man, before anything else, I suggest we create a suitable body for you first. After all, a body that is created to suit you perfectly is better than an acquired body or in other word, making you possess someone's body. A created body is a hundred times better than killing someone and possessing his body. So, what do you think.?" Asked Jian Chen with a warm smile and a carering look in his eyes.
"What? Create a suitable body for me instead of possessing someone's body? Is that even possible?" Long Chen asked with a puzzled look. He had never heard of anyone creating a body that is suitable for oneself. Even if it was possible, it would need one to have precious treasures that were rare even in the Immortal world. He didn't believe anyone could afford all the treasures and materials needed to create a new and functioning body.
"If I am alone, I can't afford any means at all to create a body for someone. But with the four of us combined, it would be an easy task. What do you think? Do you want it, or do you prefer possessing someone's body? After all, we can find a body for you to possess." Said Jian Chen smiling with a confident look in his eyes. He knew he couldn't afford to create a body even with all the means he could find. Only with the help of the other three could he be confident enough to create a suitable body for Long Chen. Even though it very expensive, he knew that they were all willing to go all out and give everything they had just for the mortal in front of them.
"Don't worry young man. With the four of us here, we can easily create a suitable body for you." Said Zhao Yufei in a sweet charming voice. She too knew how expensive it was, but she didn't mind it anyway.
Long Chen was secretly amazed by their confident looks and smile. He looked at the other two and saw them nodding with bright smiles on their faces. He couldn't believe that this guys, were willing to go all out to create a suitable body for him even considering the cost.
'If they can create a suitable body for me, then that's many times better than possessing someone. At least I will have to be my real self again.' He decided in his heart and then looked at Jian Chen and said, "I am willing."
"Hahaha! That's great!" Jian Chen responded with a loud laugh. He looked at the other three and asked, "Shall we begin?" They all nodded at the same time while beaming with radiant smiles. They had anxious looks as if they were waiting for something in a very long time and now, they were about to get it.
Long Chen was astounded by the looks that they revealed and the expressions they had on their faces. 'What the heck are the guys up to? They look really excited as if they had been waiting for this very moment in their whole lifes. What are they planning? But it is just useless to think about it now. I will know once they create a body for me. Let me see what kind of body they will create for me. I hope it's a strong one.' Long Chen secretly thought to himself.
"Ok. Let's go." Said Jian Chen with a smile as he turned and headed towards the back of the huge hall.
Long Chen put on a curious look and followed behind them.
They walked through a long corridor and appeared at the back of the palace.
Long Chen was amazed by the view of the backyard. Streams, lakes, mountains, forests and blocks of land full of mesmerizing beautiful flowers made the place look like a heavenly garden.
There were dozens of palaces floating on air covered with dense mist. Which signified the dense spiritual energy in this place.
Long Chen didn't mind much about the floating palaces because there was something else that attracted his attention. A few tens of meters ahead of him, was a pond about 70 – 80 meters wide. The pond was full of a white liquid that emitted a sweet fragrance that attracted the soul. There was a dense mist floating on top of the liquid that made the pond look mysterious.
Long Chen had a feeling that if he soaked in the pond, his soul would awaken to a terrifying extent that it might be invincible. But he couldn't understand this feeling.
"What kind of pond is this?" Long Chen asked frowning. But before he could receive any reply from the four gods, his soul body moved on its own against his will and flashed towards the pond at a terrifying speed that he had never imagined before a human could achieve.
'What the …?' Before Long Chen could think any further,
'Plop!' his soul submerged in the pond full of white liquid.
'holy crap .. I am done for. The guys will literally kill me.' Long Chen thought as his soul sank in the pond. He could tell that this pond was a heaven defying treasure of at most importance to the four gods. And now he was bathing in it without asking for anyone's permission.
Outside the pond, the four gods were looking at the pond in utter astonishment. Their mouths were wide open in shock. The moment that Long Chen's soul moved they were all caught off-guard that no one managed to react. Long Chen's soul moved too fast.
"Damn, is he still alive?" Zhao Yufei asked in fright. Everything happened too fast that she couldn't react in time; otherwise, Long Chen couldn't have entered the pond. But now she couldn't save him even if she wanted to.
"This is total madness!" Wu Shuang said in anger. He knew no one could survive the energy contained in the pond that's why he became angry by Long Chen's actions.
The others had astonished and crazed expressions on their faces. They knew too well how much energy was contained in the pond, such that beings like them wouldn't dare to directly soak themselves in the pond. The amount of energy contained inside was terrifying, too strong that it could directly blast their souls to oblivion. And now a mortal had just thrown himself in it.
There was a special type of energy contained in the pond that could enhance a cultivator's soul to an extent that it could make the soul evolve. An average cultivator could use 8 – 10 months, just to refine a single drop of the spiritual liquid. And the whole pond before them had a depth of a hundred meters and it was full to the brim with the spiritual liquid; which is more than a billion drops.
They planned on using their strength to enhance Long Chen's soul using a few drops at a time. With their strength, they could help him absorb the spiritual liquid slowly till his soul reached it's limit.
Zhao Yufei was frustrated and angry on seeing what Long Chen had done. Her interest in him had started to pick up on top of having to start liking him but, he had finally ended up inviting his own demise.
"Wait a minute. You all are missing something." Jian Chen said in an exited and at the same time having a shocked look on his face.
"What are you talking about? What are we actually missing?" Asked Zhao Yufei while not understanding what he Jian Chen actually meant by that.
"Don't tell me that the little boy is alive?" Wu Shuang asked hopefully but again doubting himself if Long Chen was actually still alive.
"No! Impossible! It can't be that, that brat is still alive. No way that someone can remain alive after jumping in there no matter how strong he/she is." Shen Tong said loudly while shaking his head vigorously in denial. No one could remain alive after getting exposed to such amount of soul energy. It didn't make sense to him. Unless Long Chen's soul was indestructible, which didn't make sense to him because he had never heard nor seen anyone with an indestructible soul.
"What you all don't know, is that the little guy didn't actually jump in there willingly." Said Jian Chen while looking puzzled about what he clearly sensed earlier.
"What do you mean? If he didn't jump in there willingly, then who was the one that pushed him? I am sure none of us made a move because I didn't sense any energy fluctuation earlier. Unless you were the one who made the move knowing that you much stronger than the three of us combined." Shen Tong looked at Jian Chen with a questioning look. He was the only one that the other three couldn't tell how strong he was. They even had a feeling that he might have entered that mysterious realm.
Zhao Yufei and Wu Shuang turned to look at Jian Chen with angry and questioning looks. But they couldn't understand what he was implying when he said that they missed something and that Long Chen was still alive.
