I am in the kitchen, washing the dishes, when I remember the things that my sister said. Shaking my head, I chuckle. Antonia can be really cute sometimes.
And then I suddenly hear Riley from the living room breathing unsteadily. I rush towards him, finding him on the floor with his mouth hanging open and a hand over his chest. "What happened? Are you okay?" I caress his face. "What is it?"
"I'm okay... I am okay..." he whispers softly, still catching his breath. "It's just..."
I follow the direction of his gaze—there, on the ground, is a fancy white envelope. It is unopened, though, so I wonder what struck him. It is as if he had seen something horrifying. I pick it up and find that it is addressed to me.
"It's my mom's birthday tomorrow. How could I forget that... This must be the real reason why Antonia was here."
